Moreover, the actress made a notable mark by being the first person to say the word “period” on television. She added, “But I was like the first person to ever say the word period on TV, which became so big. I actually got fan mail from this commercial that no one was ever going to see.”

  • Amitabh Bachchan Highlights India’s Historic Triple World Title Win in Cricket—A Game Changer!

Amitabh Bachchan Highlights India’s Historic Triple World Title Win in Cricket—A Game Changer!

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has highlighted a significant sporting achievement after India secured world titles in Blind Cricket, Women’s Cricket, and Men’s Cricket in 2025. He emphasized that this moment challenges outdated perceptions about the nation.

    Rare Triple Triumph

Reacting to this remarkable victory, the iconic actor shared his thoughts on his blog, stressing the importance of all three teams being world champions in the same year. He pointed out that India, often labeled a “third world” nation, redefines that narrative with such accomplishments. Bachchan declared that the country now stands as a “first world nation.”

“3 champions World Cricket .. Blind, Women’s, Men 2025 .. celebrations .. WE ARE 1st FIRST WORLD NATION not 3rd World, as often referred to .. there is a story in this context .. which if I am brave enough shall narrate later (sic),” he wrote.

    Reflections on Work

On January 5, Amitabh discussed the quiet phase as the season of his quiz-based reality show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” nears its end. He expressed how the lack of work often brings about an unsettling sense of inertia.

He commented, “It’s been hardly a few days to the end of the season and the days seem too long to bring to some semblance of the ethics of work .. (sic).”

For him, “no work” symbolizes a slow, exhausting journey through a vast, wet wasteland. “No work is a synonym for a sluggish walk through a wet vast wasteland… Stuck in it .. shall try the very best to pull the weary legs out and move (sic).”

    About Kaun Banega Crorepati

“Kaun Banega Crorepati” is the official Hindi adaptation of the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” franchise, which started airing in 2000. Amitabh Bachchan has hosted the show throughout its entire run, except for its third season when Shah Rukh Khan filled in.

The show involves contestants answering multiple-choice questions, selecting the correct answer from four options, while being supported by lifelines if they are uncertain. It airs on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.

  • Anshula Kapoor shares her 2026 getaway in Dubai, emphasizing the importance of taking breaks for balance.

Anshula Kapoor shares her 2026 getaway in Dubai, emphasizing the importance of taking breaks for balance.

Actor Arjun Kapoor’s sister, Anshula Kapoor, kicked off 2026 by taking a much-needed break, allowing herself to focus solely on relaxation and enjoyment.

Anshula recently shared photos from her getaway to Dubai with fiancé Rohan Thakkar on social media, captioning the moments: “Took 4 days off. Properly off. No alarms. No ‘quick replies.’ Just eating, planning the next meal, (then eating again), sitting around, talking, and doing absolutely nothing urgent. And honestly? That was the whole point (sic).”

She highlighted the importance of pausing amidst a hectic lifestyle, explaining that such breaks are essential for rejuvenating the body and mind.

“With the emotional whiplash of everything changing at once… this pause felt like it came just when I needed it the most. For my body. My heart. My nervous system,” Anshula shared.

As she prepares to return to her work responsibilities, she emphasized that it’s completely normal not to have every aspect of your year planned out within the first month.

Anshula advised: “Now that the first ‘real’ work week of 2026 is here and everyone’s back to circling, following up, and asking for timelines – consider this your reminder: you don’t need to have it all figured out in January. A new year doesn’t require instant productivity.”

Towards the end of her post, Anshula extended a belated Happy New Year to her followers, expressing, “And yes, slightly late but a very genuine – Happy New Year!”

Previously, she encouraged kindness and compassion towards oneself and others this year. Her message resonated with empathy: “If a friend came to you with the thoughts you’re having right now, you wouldn’t judge them. You’d soften your voice. You’d tell them to breathe. You’d remind them they’re not broken, behind, or failing.”

Anshula concluded with a reminder to treat oneself with the same kindness and to not feel pressured into making drastic changes every January. “Not every year needs a big reinvention. Not every January needs a master plan,” she added.

  • Ben Affleck shares his “massive embarrassment” after missing Best Director nod for Argo at the Oscars.

Ben Affleck shares his “massive embarrassment” after missing Best Director nod for Argo at the Oscars.

Hollywood actor Ben Affleck has opened up about the “massive embarrassment” he felt after being snubbed in the Best Director category at the Oscars.

The 53-year-old star was widely anticipated to receive a nomination in 2013 for directing the thriller ‘Argo’, which ultimately won the Best Picture award. However, Affleck admitted that missing out was particularly tough, especially after being told repeatedly that he would be nominated.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ben shared, “It was the year, the horrible thing of everyone telling you, ‘You’re gonna get nominated, you’re gonna get nominated for director’. And so, of course, I wake up that morning, and sure enough, and, by the way, it’s not (unlike) any other morning that I had not been nominated for Best Director. But all of a sudden, it’s a massive embarrassment. I woke up and people (said), ‘You didn’t get nominated’”.

Kimmel mentioned that he thought of Ben when he watched Leonardo DiCaprio miss out on the Best Actor prize to Timothee Chalamet at the Critics’ Choice Awards. Despite DiCaprio’s film One Battle After Another winning the awards for Best Picture and Best Director, Kimmel speculated about DiCaprio’s feelings, saying, “I was thinking, boy, he’s got so many better places to be. And the movie wins Best Picture. The director Paul Thomas Anderson wins Best Director, and then he doesn’t win. And I’m thinking he must be so p***** that (he had to leave) whatever he got airlifted from, a yacht somewhere, and couldn’t be there anymore. He came to lose.”

Reflecting on his own experience, Affleck confessed that he “felt” similarly when fielding questions about his Argo snub on the red carpet at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards. He recounted, “It seemed like there were 500 people dying to talk to me. And every single one of them (said), ‘Hi, so the snub.’ What do you say to that? ‘Ha, ha, ha, yeah. It’s a bummer’”.

In his latest project, Ben reunites with childhood friend Matt Damon in the new action thriller The Rip, expressing his enjoyment of working with his “understated” pal.

He told GQ magazine, “Every time I act with Matt is a humbling experience because I learn to appreciate further just how good an actor he is. He is so understated, so real and so honest, it’s the opposite of a ‘showy’ performance, and I think what he does is more difficult. When you know someone as long as I’ve known Matt, you develop a pretty good sense of what is real and what isn’t and it’s almost impossible to catch Matt acting.”

“He is really a master of realism and it’s something I deeply admire about him. One of many things,” he added.
