Mumbai: After completing its theatrical run, Peddi, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, has officially made its OTT debut on Netflix, giving audiences another opportunity to experience director Buchi Babu Sana’s sports drama from home. The film started streaming on July 9 in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

Unlike its theatrical version, the OTT release arrives with a revised cut. Several scenes have reportedly been re-edited or trimmed following audience feedback received during the film’s cinema run. Reports indicate that a few sequences involving Janhvi Kapoor’s character have been modified, while some portions have been restructured to improve the overall narrative flow.

Released in theatres on June 4, Peddi featured Ram Charan in the role of a gifted cricketer from a remote Andhra Pradesh village whose journey is intertwined with themes of pride, resilience and community. The film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu in pivotal roles, with music composed by A. R. Rahman.

While Peddi opened to mixed critical reviews during its theatrical release, Ram Charan’s performance received widespread appreciation from audiences and critics alike. The film also generated discussion online over certain scenes, which are understood to have influenced the revised streaming version now available on Netflix.

The digital release is expected to introduce the film to a wider global audience, particularly viewers who missed its theatrical run. With the updated edit now available for streaming, fans can revisit the sports drama in what is being presented as the film’s refined version.
