Megastar Amitabh Bachchan remembered his late mother, Teji Bachchan, on her 18th death anniversary.

Amitabh shared a heartfelt note on his blog, dedicating the day to his mother’s memory. He wrote: “Maa ki yad main din samarpit aaj ka din. Dec 21. Kuch kehne ke liye shabd nahi hote bas… Prarthanayein.” (Dedicated to Maa’s memory — today. Dec 21. There are no words left to say, bas… only prayers.)

Teji Bachchan married Harivansh Rai Bachchan in Allahabad in 1941 and became a homemaker. A lover of the stage, she would sing at social gatherings when encouraged. The couple had two sons, Amitabh and Ajitabh.

Teji spent most of 2007 in Lilavati Hospital and was moved to the ICU in November after her condition worsened. She passed away at the age of 93 on December 21, 2007, following a prolonged illness.

Simbu is currently filming in Kovilpatti, and the shooting schedule is projected to continue until the end of the month.

Earlier this year, a promo was released that starts on a light note with director Nelson appearing as himself. In the clip, Simbu tells Nelson that everything he is about to share is true, mentioning that the killers, victims, names, and places involved are real. He states that revealing certain information could put “innocents” like him, as well as lawyers, politicdigihunt, police officers, and judges, in jeopardy.

As Simbu shares his concerns, the makers of ‘Arasan’ include a disclaimer in the promo.

Simbu says to a visibly anxious Nelson, “If you put out a disclaimer, even if the incidents shown in the film are true, no one can question you.” He adds that his own case is approaching trial and he will return to explain in detail.

As he heads to the courtroom, he receives guidance from his lawyer. Upon taking the stand, the judge informs him that he is charged with three murders in one night and asks for his plea. Simbu firmly responds that he is not responsible for the murders. However, subsequent scenes suggest otherwise, revealing that he was indeed involved in the brutal crimes.

The promo indicates that ‘Arasan’ will tell an untold story from the world of ‘Vada Chennai’. Recently, the filmmakers announced the title of the film as ‘Arasan’, clarifying that while it is not ‘Vada Chennai 2’, the storyline will be set in the same universe.

Vetrimaaran’s film will also star Andrea Jeremiah, Vijay Sethupathi, Samuthirakani, and Kishore in significant roles, with music composed by Anirudh.

Vetrimaaran recently addressed speculation regarding a sequel to his much-anticipated film ‘Vada Chennai’, confirming that while ‘Arasan’ features Simbu as the lead, it will not be a continuation of ‘Vada Chennai’, though it will connect to that narrative world.

Actress Shilpa Shetty paid a heartfelt tribute to her late father, Surendra Shetty, who would have celebrated his 85th birthday. She shared cherished memories on her official Instagram handle to commemorate the special occasion.

For context, Shilpa’s father passed away on October 11, 2016, at their home in Versova due to a cardiac arrest. After being rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, he was pronounced dead.

In a separate matter, Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing registered a case involving a 60 crore fraud against Shilpa and her husband Raj Kundra, following a complaint from Mumbai-based businessman Deepak Kothari.

Shilpa firmly denied the allegations, describing them as “baseless and motivated.” In her Instagram Stories, she stated, “We categorically deny the baseless and motivated allegations being circulated. The issues sought to be raised are being given a criminal colour without any lawful basis. A Quashing Petition has already been filed before the High Court and is pending adjudication. Having fully cooperated with the investigation, we are sanguine that justice will prevail and have complete faith in the law enforcement authorities and the judicial system of our country.
