  • Kate Hudson reveals she cries daily while filming emotional biopic Song Sung Blue with Hugh Jackman.

Kate Hudson reveals she cries daily while filming emotional biopic Song Sung Blue with Hugh Jackman.

Hollywood star Kate Hudson, who appears in Craig Brewer’s musical biopic Song Sung Blue alongside Hugh Jackman, admits to being an “easy crier,” revealing that she likely sheds tears at least once every other day.

“I cry every day ‘cause every time Hugh and I start talking about the movie, we get so emotional,” Hudson shared with people.com about her film centered around the real-life Neil Diamond tribute band, Lightning & Thunder.

It doesn’t take much for Hudson to get emotional. She opened up about her sensitivity, stating, “I cry really easy. I’m an easy crier. … I could look at an Instagram and start (crying). Especially (posts) of kids saying something profound will make me cry.” She added, “I think I probably cry at least once every other day. Crying is always a good thing. It really is.”

Hudson spoke fondly of her family, stating her mom Goldie Hawn and brother Oliver Hudson are also in touch with their feelings. “We’re all criers,” she remarked, making a light-hearted note that it might just be her father Kurt Russell and brother Wyatt who aren’t as emotional. “Our whole family, everybody but maybe Pa and Wyatt,” she said. “We’re pretty emotional.”

    About the Movie

Song Sung Blue follows the story of Claire, portrayed by Hudson, and Mike Sardinia, played by Jackman, as they form their tribute band, Lightning & Thunder, in 1989 for the “Sweet Caroline” singer. Their professional relationship soon blossoms into romance.

During the 2025 Gotham Awards, the costars expressed their admiration for each other’s work. Hudson praised Jackman’s ability to connect, saying, “His superpower is to connect, whether it’s onstage, whether it’s on set, whether it’s with anyone and everyone. He just wants to connect, and he wants to make sure that everyone’s happy.”

Turning to Jackman, she added, “And at the same time, I learned that one of the greatest gifts that you can give people is that you actually have a desire to connect to them, and I think you give that to everybody.”

Jackman responded by sharing his appreciation for Hudson, saying, “I learned a lot from Kate. I’ve done almost 50 films, but somehow working with Kate — it’s a very difficult thing to describe, but the mixture of being prepared and just being instinctive is a really fine line, and no one does it better than Kate Hudson.” He concluded by affirming, “Being with her … I think I became a better actor.”

Nick Jonas Pranks Joe with Snowball to Announce New Single Releasing on January 1, 2026

Singer Nick Jonas found a playful way to inform his elder brother Joe Jonas about his new single by throwing a snowball at his car windshield.

Joe shared a video on Instagram, transforming what seemed like a normal moment into a perfectly timed sibling prank. In the clip, he’s seen sitting inside his car, honking at Nick, who casually stands outside. Before Joe can fully process the situation, Nick hurls a snowball directly at the car’s windshield.

An amused yet confused Joe rolls down the window and asks, “Why would you do that? What’s your problem?” Nick, unbothered and grinning, steps closer to reveal the real reason behind his unexpected action.

“Just wanted to tell you that my new single Gut Punch comes out on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2026,” he explains. Caught off guard, Joe pauses for a moment before responding flatly, “Okay.”

In the caption, Joe humorously quipped, “That’s the last time I buy him a half calf triple shot oat latte with light foam.”

Joe and Nick rose to fame as part of the pop rock band the Jonas Brothers, alongside their brother Kevin. The group debuted with their album It’s About Time through Columbia Records in 2006. They became prominent figures on the Disney Channel, gaining a large following through several successful projects, including the musical film Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010), along with their own series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream (2008–2010) and Jonas (2009–2010).

The band’s third studio album, A Little Bit Longer, released in 2008, showcased continued commercial success, featuring the lead single “Burnin’ Up.”

After the group announced a hiatus, Joe released his debut solo album, Fastlife, in 2011, which achieved moderate commercial success. Following the Jonas Brothers’ official split due to creative differences, Nick formed the funk-pop band DNCE in 2015, where he served as the lead vocalist. Their debut single, “Cake by the Ocean,” met significant commercial success.

  • Chitrangda Singh reveals deeper social themes in “Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders” on set.

Chitrangda Singh reveals deeper social themes in “Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders” on set.

Actress Chitrangda Singh highlights the deeper social themes interwoven into “Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders,” including patriarchy, class divides, and inheritance politics within Indian families. She realized these elements more fully as the film evolved during production.

When asked about her awareness of these themes during her performance and if they influenced her choices as an actor, Chitrangda reflected on her initial experience. During her first narration with director Honey Trehan, she did not understand how central social commentary would be to the story’s development.

“I honestly, you know, in the first narration that I had with Honey Trehan, I wasn’t very sure that this was something that would be such an important part of the narrative. But after, you know, we started shooting and then slowly you see the dialogues kind of, you know, always underlining these things and in the way it got played out finally,” she explained.

She emphasized that this layered storytelling is a hallmark of Honey Trehan’s filmmaking style.

“I think now I understand how important the social commentary was for Honey Trehan, and that is the beauty of his filmmaking. He is one of those filmmakers who don’t just convey one message in a scene; there are so many layered meanings to every moment,” she shared.

Chitrangda believes the nuanced approach sets “Raat Akeli Hai” apart from typical murder mysteries.

“And, you know, apparently they’re running, and I think that is why it kind of stands apart from a regular murder mystery. It’s not that is what has become such an important part of the story as well,” she concluded.

“Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders” is a crime thriller directed by Honey Trehan, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte. This sequel picks up years after the first case, following Inspector Jatil Yadav as he returns, now more experienced yet still morally resolute. When members of the influential Bansal family are tied to a new suspicious death, Jatil is summoned to investigate.

What seems like an open-and-shut case quickly becomes complex, as the Bansals are wealthier and more adept at hiding their secrets. Each family member presents a polished version of the truth while discreetly protecting their own interests.

Chitrangda will next be seen in “Battle Of Galwan,” alongside superstar Salman Khan. This film centers on the Galwan stand-off between India and China on June 15, 2020, during the height of the first COVID-19 wave in India.

  • Filmmaker Rahhat Shah Kazmi Reflects on 2025: “Nothing Prepares You for a Year Like This”

Filmmaker Rahhat Shah Kazmi Reflects on 2025: “Nothing Prepares You for a Year Like This”

As 2025 comes to a close, filmmaker Rahhat Shah Kazmi reflects on his journey with “Love in Vietnam,” a film that has not only traveled across Asia but also garnered prestigious accolades. Kazmi shares that such a year leaves one unprepared.

“Nothing prepares you for a year like this,” he remarked.

He elaborated, “You make a film hoping it will connect with people. But when strangers from another country come up to you and say your story moved them, changed them, stayed with them, it humbles you in a way awards never can.”

Kazmi noted, “We are living in a time where loud often replaces honest.”

The film received prominent recognition in South Korea, winning Best Asian Film and Best Director for Kazmi. Additionally, Chinese distributors embraced it for a wide release. In Vietnam, where it premiered at the Da Nang Asian Film Festival, audiences were captivated by its cross-cultural storytelling.

“This year reminded me that honesty still has a place, maybe even more than we realise. Cinema does not need to shout to travel. It just needs to feel true,” he stated.

Kazmi expressed that 2025 has heightened his awareness. “If anything, this year has made me more aware of the responsibility I carry as a filmmaker. When stories cross borders, you realise how carefully they must be told.”

Looking ahead, his vision for cinema is clearer than ever. “I want to make films that last beyond opening weekends. Stories that people return to years later, not because they were perfect, but because they felt real.”

He concluded by stating, “If 2025 taught me anything, it’s this: when you stop chasing scale and start chasing truth, the world somehow finds its way to your film.”

“Love in Vietnam,” starring Shantanu Maheshwari and Avneet Kaur, is a heartfelt cross-cultural love story. The film is produced by Captain Rahul Bali, Rahhat Shah Kazmi, Omung Kumar, Sarvesh Goel, Tariq Khan, Zeba Sajid, Mohammad Antulay, Sahil Sheikh, and Pankaj Singh Chauhan, with co-producers Samten Hills Dalat, Vikas Sharma, Kritika Rampal, Devansh Bhardwaj, and Nguyen Cao Tung.
