  • Salman Khan’s ‘Battle of Galwan’ teaser drops on his birthday, honoring India’s brave soldiers.

Salman Khan’s ‘Battle of Galwan’ teaser drops on his birthday, honoring India’s brave soldiers.

The teaser for the much-anticipated combat film ‘Battle of Galwan’ was unveiled on the occasion of Salman Khan’s birthday. This teaser serves as a powerful tribute to India’s frontline soldiers and their indomitable spirit.

    Salman Khan’s Commanding Presence

In this teaser, Salman Khan showcases one of his most commanding avatars, portraying an Indian Army officer with a blend of restrained ferocity and quiet authority. His weathered look, coupled with controlled aggression, speaks volumes. The piercing silence in the final moments, where his unflinching gaze locks directly with the viewer, leaves a lasting impact.

    Gritty and Raw Visuals

The teaser hits hard with gritty, raw visuals that capture the unforgiving terrain and the brutal realities of high-altitude combat. Alongside Salman, the film stars Chitrangada Singh and is produced by Salma Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films.

    Based on a Historic Standoff

‘Battle of Galwan’ is based on the Galwan stand-off between India and its expansionist neighbour, China, which occurred on June 15, 2020, during the height of the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in India. Indian and Chinese troops clashed in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh, part of a larger border standoff along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The clash escalated into violent confrontations as both sides attempted to patrol disputed areas, leading to intense hand-to-hand combat.

This confrontation resulted in the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers, while China also faced casualties. It marked the deadliest face-off between India and China in over four decades, escalating tensions between the two nations and prompting increased troop deployments as well as diplomatic talks to prevent further conflict. Currently, India and China seem to be mending their relationship, having opened multiple diplomatic channels even as India navigates challenges posed by tariffs imposed by the USA, a rival of China.

    Release Date and Direction

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film is slated for release on April 17, 2025.

  • Bhuvan Bam on How Technology Transformed Bollywood and Made It More Accessible to Audiences

Bhuvan Bam on How Technology Transformed Bollywood and Made It More Accessible to Audiences

Actor and creator Bhuvan Bam believes that the most significant change in the first quarter of the 21st century has been access.

    Changing Entertainment Landscape

Discussing the evolving entertainment landscape, Bhuvan pointed out that Bollywood once felt distant and largely inaccessible, but technology has shattered those barriers.

“For me, the biggest shift is access. Bollywood earlier felt distant and almost closed off. Today, audiences are part of the journey right from the start. Technology and digital platforms have completely changed how stories are found, shared, and talked about,” he stated.

Unlike before, audiences today are not just passive viewers; they actively engage from the inception of a project, according to Bhuvan.

    Audience Adaptability

He remarked, “What surprised me most is how adaptable audiences are. They move easily between a phone screen and a theatre, between short-form content and full-length films. Engagement isn’t passive anymore.”

“People participate, react, and respond, and that’s pushed creators to be more honest and more fearless.”

    Bhuvan’s Journey

Bhuvan first gained recognition with his music video “Teri Meri Kahani,” released in 2016. This was followed by other successful music videos, including “Sang Hoon Tere,” “Safar,” “Rahguzaar,” “Bas Mein,” “Ajnabee,” and “Heer Ranjha.” He also starred in the short film “Plus Minus,” alongside Divya Dutta.

In 2018, he launched a new digital series on YouTube called “Titu Talks,” where he portrays his character Titu Mama, who comically interviews his guests. The first episode featured none other than Shah Rukh Khan.

In 2021, he released the web series “Dhindora” on YouTube, consisting of eight episodes. For this series, he sang two songs, “Saazish” and “Bann Gayi Zindagi.” By 2023, he made his OTT debut with “Taaza Khabar” and “Rafta Rafta.”

    Upcoming Projects

Bhuvan Bam will next appear in “The Revolutionaries,” a period drama web series directed by Nikkhil Advani. Based on Sanjeev Sanyal’s non-fiction book, “Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom,” the series chronicles the lives of young Indian freedom fighters who believed that armed resistance was crucial to ending British colonial rule.

  • Wamiqa Gabbi: Modern cinema now embraces quieter, deeper storytelling and flawed characters.

Wamiqa Gabbi: Modern cinema now embraces quieter, deeper storytelling and flawed characters.

Actress Wamiqa Gabbi believes that one of the most significant changes in cinema over the past few decades has been the space storytelling has finally been allowed to occupy.

Reflecting on the early years of the 21st century, Wamiqa observed that contemporary cinema is gradually shifting towards quieter, more nuanced narratives. She noted that the last couple of decades have opened doors for stories driven by flawed characters and emotions that don’t need to be loud to create an impact.

“What really stands out for me is how much space storytelling has found. The last couple of decades have allowed for quieter narratives, flawed people, and stories that don’t need to shout to be heard,” she said.

Wamiqa mentioned that technology has helped films reach audiences more quickly and broadly, but she feels the biggest shift is ‘trust’. “Audiences today are open to nuance and complexity, and that honestly surprised me. There’s room now for performances that unfold slowly and for stories that linger instead of aiming only for instant reaction,” she added.

Wamiqa made her screen debut as a child with a brief role in Jab We Met, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor. She later established herself as a leading lady in Punjabi cinema with successful performances in Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22, Nikka Zaildar 2, and Kali Jotta.

She also branched into other languages with the Tamil romance Maalai Naerathu Mayakkam and the Malayalam sports drama Godha.

Recently, Wamiqa was seen in Bhool Chuk Maaf, a fantasy romantic comedy directed by Karan Sharma, which also stars Rajkummar Rao and Seema Pahwa.

She is set to appear in the much-anticipated sequel, Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, co-starring Ayushmaan Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan. This project, helmed by Mudassar Aziz, is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 4, 2026, coinciding with Holi.

Wamiqa’s upcoming projects also include Bhooth Bangla, Kuku Ki Kundali, Tiki Taka, and Goodachari 2.

Bhoot Bangla is directed by Priyadarshan and brings together the iconic trio of Priyadarshan, Akshay Kumar, and Paresh Rawal. The film will feature Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, and Mithila Palkar in crucial roles, among others.

Produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, in collaboration with Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films, Bhooth Bangla is co-produced by Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali. The film is slated for a theatrical release on April 2, 2026.
