  • Mumbai’s air pollution worsens Hina Khan’s health, causing breathing issues and limiting outdoor activities.

Mumbai’s air pollution worsens Hina Khan’s health, causing breathing issues and limiting outdoor activities.

Polluted air continues to disrupt daily life in Mumbai, affecting many residents, including popular television actress Hina Khan.

In a recent social media update, the star of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ revealed that she is struggling to breathe due to the city’s declining air quality. Hina mentioned that the constant coughing she’s experiencing is taking a toll on her health, especially considering her ongoing battle with breast cancer.

The pollution has also limited her outdoor activities, which are essential for maintaining optimal health. Hina shared a screenshot of Mumbai’s Air Quality Index on her Instagram Stories, showing the AQI at a concerning 209, indicating ‘severe’ air quality.

Expressing her frustration to her followers, Hina wrote, “What is happening? Can’t ever breathe, yaaa. Makes me reduce my outdoor activities. Constant coughing. It’s so bad in the morning as well (sic).”

In a recent episode of actress Soha Ali Khan’s podcast “All About Her,” Hina opened up about her challenging journey with cancer. She discussed the ups and downs during her treatment, noting that she underwent chemotherapy every three weeks. The first week was particularly painful, but she made the most of the remaining two weeks.

Hina emphasized, “It’s the way you look at it. People, as soon as they are diagnosed with something, think their life is over, but it is not. I used to think the same way, but as soon as I started experiencing this journey, I realized that even if there is a side of life that is bad and devastating, there are good days too when you live a normal life with your loved ones, with so much love around.”

  • Ishaan Khatter’s Homebound Moves Closer to Oscars; Scorsese Moved by Its Touching Story

Ishaan Khatter’s Homebound Moves Closer to Oscars; Scorsese Moved by Its Touching Story

As Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa’s film Homebound edges closer to the Oscars, renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese has expressed he was “deeply moved” by its poignant narrative. The film has secured a place among the 15 contenders for the International Feature Film category.

The Academy announced via X that “fifteen films advanced to the next round of voting in the International Feature Film category.” India’s Homebound is competing alongside notable films including Argentina’s BELÉN, Brazil’s THE SECRET AGENT, France’s IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT, Germany’s SOUND OF FALLING, the Iraqi film THE PRESIDENT’S CAKE, Japan’s KOKUHO, Jordan’s ALL THAT’S LEFT OF YOU, Norway’s SENTIMENTAL VALUE, Palestine’s PALESTINE 36, South Korea’s NO OTHER CHOICE, Spain’s SIRÂT, Switzerland’s LATE SHIFT, Taiwan’s LEFT-HANDED GIRL, and Tunisia’s THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB.

“Oscar nominations will be announced on Thursday, January 22nd,” stated the announcement.

As director Neeraj Ghaywan’s film progresses towards the Oscars, Scorsese shared his thoughts in an Instagram video, reflecting on his conversation with Ghaywan. He noted: “I’m very happy to be associated as an Executive Producer on HOMEBOUND (@homeboundthefilm), shortlisted in the Best International Feature category at this year’s Academy Awards. I was deeply moved by this true story of two young men whose friendship and search for dignity speak to the need for empathy and human connection in a divided world.”

In the clip, Scorsese reminisced about reading the script for Homebound. “I remember working on the script with you. And so in a way, I’ve been living with it for about three years. And so for me, it’s part of… quite honestly, it’s very satisfying that it’s here. I love the audiences in America to see this picture, because I know that it’s based on a real story. And what was interesting to me, too, was that, you know, I didn’t know the story.”

He further shared, “Aside from all of us suffering through COVID, the tragedy of the image also shows the joy of these two characters, the joy of these two young men, and the joy of life. I’m impressed by how you related to the story that way, rather than a ponderous lecture.”

Ghaywan emphasized his approach to the film, stating, “I realized that the way to see this film would be to eschew sloganeering and political grandstanding. The vehicle of friendship is so potent; it is an act of resistance. Connection is a form of resistance. There’s a lot of hate going on. We’re labeling people, pigeonholing them. That hate has gone too far.”

He concluded with a powerful message: “I think it’s about time that we sit across from our adversaries and empathize with them. We can ideologically disagree and have different worldviews, but we cannot forget the humanity between us. That was the intent with this film.”

Ghaywan expressed his gratitude to Scorsese in the comments, saying, “Sir, I will forever be grateful for your kindness and unswerving generosity. Your insights during the writing and editing have been invaluable and have shaped the film to be liked by so many across the world!”

Actor Ishaan Khatter also shared his appreciation, stating, “As a young actor from anywhere in the world, to have a nod of approval from your masterful gaze is a blessing to cherish for a lifetime. Thank you for your grace, sir. Your presence and contribution on our film is priceless. Only love and respect.”

Homebound narrates the journey of Shoaib and Chandan, childhood friends from a small village in North India, who aspire to become police officers, hoping that the role will earn them the respect they have always yearned for. However, as they draw closer to their goal, the pressures and struggles of life begin to threaten their friendship.

  • Kristen Stewart wants to direct a high-budget remake of the iconic vampire romance “Twilight.”

Kristen Stewart wants to direct a high-budget remake of the iconic vampire romance “Twilight.”

Actress Kristen Stewart, who gained global recognition for her role as Bella Swan, has expressed a strong desire to direct a high-budget remake of the vampire romance “Twilight.”

The actress, recently named among 10 up-and-coming directors following her directorial debut, “The Chronology of Water,” set to release in 2025, shared her thoughts with Entertainment Tonight. She remarked, “I would love. I love what Catherine (Hardwicke) did, I love what Chris (Weitz) did, I love what all of the directors did with the movies.”

She continued, “They were so themselves and weird and kind of like, squirrelly, and just so present in that time when they didn’t really know what they were yet, like before they blew up. Imagine if we had a huge budget and a bunch of love and support. I don’t know – I would love to readapt. Yeah, sure, I’ll do the remake. I’m doing it! I’m committed!”

The “Twilight” franchise, adapted from Stephanie Meyer’s novels, had a total of three installments helmed by different directors. Catherine Hardwicke, 70, directed the original in 2008, followed by Chris Weitz, 56, who directed “New Moon” in 2009. David Slade, 56, took the reins for “Eclipse” in 2010, while Bill Condon, 70, directed the two-part finale, “Breaking Dawn,” released in 2011 and 2012.

In the successful franchise, Stewart starred alongside Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Anna Kendrick, Peter Facinelli, and Kellan Lutz. Interestingly, she never anticipated that a sequel to “Twilight” would be created, as she didn’t foresee the immense success of the first film.

Reflecting on this during a 2022 appearance on the Jess Cagle Podcast, she stated, “I always want to remind people that [the first ‘Twilight’ movie was technically an indie] without diminishing it, or being like ‘it was nothing!’ We just did not know. And it was kind of like an oddball, slightly marginal teen movie. I didn’t think everyone was going to take to that. I didn’t think we were going to make a sequel.”

  • Adivi Sesh Recreates Nostalgia by Including Iconic 90s Hit ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast’ in Dacoit Film

Adivi Sesh Recreates Nostalgia by Including Iconic 90s Hit ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast’ in Dacoit Film

Adivi Sesh has included the iconic 90s hit ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast,’ originally from the Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon-starrer, in his upcoming film “Dacoit.” This choice is not merely creative but deeply personal, resonating with cherished childhood memories.

    A Nostalgic Decision

When conceptualizing the teaser for “Dacoit,” Sesh was determined to evocate a sense of nostalgia. He took the proactive step to legally acquire the rights to the song, allowing him to relive a significant part of his youth.

Sesh shared, “There are certain songs that become a part of who you are, and ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast’ has always been one of those for me. As a kid in the 90s, this track was impossible to escape, and I was completely drawn to it.”

He reminisced about his first school performance, saying, “It featured in the very first time I ever performed on stage as part of a dance medley, and that memory has stayed with me all these years.”

    About the Song and Film

The song is from the 1994 action thriller “Mohra,” directed by Rajiv Rai, and stars renowned actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Poonam Jhawer, Raza Murad, Paresh Rawal, Gulshan Grover, and Sadashiv Amrapurkar. The film was reported to be inspired by the 1987 movie “Death Wish 4: The Crackdown,” with the climax drawing inspiration from the 1992 Hong Kong film “Hard Boiled.”

While developing “Dacoit,” Sesh felt an instinctive urge to infuse the film with that emotional resonance. He expressed, “Not as a novelty, but as something honest and instinctive. Including the song was my way of acknowledging that younger version of myself who discovered the excitement of music, performance, and connecting with an audience.”

    Personal Significance

Sesh emphasized the importance of securing the rights, stating, “This wasn’t just a creative decision; it was a personal one. It’s a small fragment of my past that now lives within the film, and I hope it evokes the same nostalgia and energy for viewers when they hear it.”

“Dacoit” also features a talented cast, including Mrunal Thakur, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla. The film narrates the journey of an angry convict seeking revenge on his ex-girlfriend for her betrayal. As he devises a risky plan to ensnare her, the narrative evolves into an emotionally charged tale of love, betrayal, and vengeance.

Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, the story and screenplay of “Dacoit” have been collaboratively crafted by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo. The film is currently in post-production and is set for a grand pan-India release.
