  • Fatima Sana Shaikh tries cliff jumping for the first time, shares her courage and thrilling leap experience.

Fatima Sana Shaikh tries cliff jumping for the first time, shares her courage and thrilling leap experience.

Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh recently took the plunge—literally—by trying her hand at cliff jumping for the first time. Sharing her exhilarating experience, the ‘Dangal’ star revealed it took her about 20 minutes to muster the courage needed to take the leap.

Posting a video capturing the adrenaline-filled moment on her Instagram, Fatima shared, “It took me 20 minutes standing on that ledge, trying to find the strength to take the leap. And then I went for it..(sic).”

Reflecting on the moment just before jumping, she described how time seemed to stretch, and she felt a sinking sensation in her stomach. “That moment when you’re in the air, just before hitting the water… feels horribly long. That sinking feeling in your stomach is haunting and confusing. Because in those split seconds, I could feel fear turning into adrenaline. It was fascinating to watch myself go through that shift,” she added.

Once Fatima overcame her initial fear, she jumped four more times, realizing that the jump itself was never the frightening part; it was the stories she had created in her mind that were holding her back. “Uske baad toh fear ka switch off ho gaya. And I jumped 4 times after that. It was never the jump that was scary. It was the stories I built in my head before the leap.. utna sochne ka nahi.. You just have to take the leap,” she concluded.

For her video’s background score, she chose “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” by Pink Floyd, adding to the thrill of the experience.

On the professional front, Fatima recently portrayed the character Minni in Vibhu Puri’s romantic entertainer, “Gustaakh Ishq.” Backed by designer Manish Malhotra’s Stage5 Productions, the film also stars Vijay Varma, Naseeruddin Shah, and Sharib Hashmi in prominent roles, among others. “Gustaakh Ishq” had its theatrical release on November 28, 2025.

Actor Ravi Mohan praises Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ trailer, declares him a winner ahead of Pongal clash.

Actor Ravi Mohan, who portrays the antagonist in Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film ‘Parasakthi’, has expressed heartfelt admiration for the trailer of actor Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’. The film is set to compete against ‘Parasakthi’ at the box office this Pongal.

In a recent Instagram story, Ravi Mohan shared his thoughts on the ‘Jana Nayagan’ trailer, stating, “Thalapathy vetri Kondaan. #Jana Nayagan @actorvijay Anna, you have already won for me. In everything. The trailer is super realistic, and I’m sure this movie is winning the hearts of many, including me, your forever fan and brother. My best wishes to HVinoth brother, @KvnProductions, @Jagadishbliss, and the entire team for success.”

For those unaware, the unit of director H Vinoth’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ recently released the official trailer, delighting fans and movie enthusiasts alike.

    Trailer Highlights

The trailer opens with a notorious thug making a phone call to another thug, instructing him to make inquiries about someone named Thalapathy Vetri Kondan. Alarmed, the second thug warns, “Hope you haven’t tried your tricks with him because you would have heard of many killers, but have you heard of someone setting a record in it? That is ‘Thalapathy’ for you. Do not touch him. He will slice you up.”

Following this, viewers are treated to a series of intense action sequences. A little child asks Vijay, “You bashed an entire battalion. Are you Superman?” To which he replies, “I am just an ordinary man, baby, but I have heard people say that whatever I do is super.”

In the trailer, Mamitha Baiju plays Vijay’s daughter, Viji. Vijay advises, “Girls should not be scared. She must be like a tigress,” while trying to get her to sign a form for army induction. Viji is shown in fear and pain as Thalapathy begins his search for those who dared to harass her.

    Antagonist and Political Statements

The trailer features Bobby Deol as the antagonist, who believes he can make India fall at his feet within 30 days. He has a plan called OM, aimed at annihilation.

Vijay’s character makes several strong political statements throughout the trailer. One notable dialogue has him declaring, “Be it anybody who tells me, ‘I will close your chapter,’ or ‘I will cause disgrace to befall you’, I have no intention of turning back.”

The trailer concludes with a powerful scene of him confronting politicdigihunt, stating, “Instead of entering politics to serve the people selflessly, you barge into politics to loot and kill innocent lives.”

As anticipation builds, the film—which is generating immense interest as it will officially be Vijay’s last project—is set to release worldwide on January 9 this year.

  • Actor Paul Mescal discusses the need for breaks from project promotions to maintain his mental health.

Actor Paul Mescal discusses the need for breaks from project promotions to maintain his mental health.

Actor Paul Mescal recently shared his thoughts on work-life balance, expressing that while he prefers not to take long breaks from acting, he’s open to stepping back from promotional activities for his upcoming projects.

In a candid interview with The Guardian, the 29-year-old star reflected on the pressures of constant promotions. He stated, “I’m learning that I don’t think I can go on (acting) as much,” but clarified that he welcomes the idea of a breather from the promotional grind. Mescal, known for his roles in Hamnet and an untitled 2028 Beatles biopic, mentioned, “What I mean by that is that I’m excited for the period of time that will fundamentally exist where I won’t be promoting anything.”

He humorously added, “I would really lose my mind if I took two years off (from) my job. But what I’m excited about is the concept of not being on a promotional tour for the next two years.” Mescal joked, “I think it’ll give people a welcome break from seeing my face.”

Hoping to retreat from the public eye after promoting Hamnet, he noted his anticipation for some quiet time until 2028, when the Beatles project comes into play. “Once I’ve finished promoting that, I hope nobody gets to see me until 2028 when I’m doing the Beatles. People will get a break from me, and I’ll get a break from them,” he said.

Reflecting on his career, the actor expressed gratitude for his success but acknowledged the emotional toll that frequent projects can take. “I’m five or six years into this now, and I feel very lucky. But I’m also learning that I don’t think I can go on doing it as much.”

When asked about rationing his work, Mescal replied, “I think so. I’m gonna have to start doing that. For sure.” He emphasized that rationing doesn’t necessarily mean doing less, but rather recognizing that intense projects like The History of Sound require more emotional investment. “You can’t keep going back and expect to consistently deliver something you’re proud of.”

He also expressed a desire to focus on theater for a time, saying, “I miss being on stage, so I might have a time when I’m only doing theatre for a couple of years. I also have different priorities in my personal life that I want to attend to.”
