Abhishek Bachchan speaks on Nepotism, says ‘Dad never financed films for me’.

Abhishek Bachchan has expressed his opinion while talking on the issue of nepotism. He said that Papa (Amitabh Bachchan) never used his fame and power for me.

Being the son of a superstar, the fans keep comparing Abhishek Bachchan to father Amitabh Bachchan every time. These days the issue of nepotism has been overshadowed in the film industry. Abhishek too has given his opinion on this issue. Abhishek said that if the public likes your work, then only your career can go ahead.

Talking about the issue of nepotism, Abhishek said, ‘It is such that, he (Amitabh Bachchan) never called anyone for me. He never made a film for me. I have made a ‘Paa’ film for him. He further said, ‘People have to understand that this is a business. If the public of the first film does not see anything in you or the numbers of the film are not good, then you are not going to get new work. This is the hard truth of life.’

Abhishek further said, ‘I know when my films don’t do well, I know the films I was replaced. The films which started but were discontinued due to lack of budget, because they cannot take the risk on me. This is the truth of being the son of Amitabh Bachchan, who is born with a silver spoon.’

Talking about the work front, Abhishek will play the role of a criminal in his next film ‘Ludo’. Anurag Basu is directing the film. When Abhishek was asked what is his dream role? In response to this, Abhishek said, ‘When I was not an actor, Shahrukh Khan told me that always remember your favorite role should be what you are currently doing. Because if it is not, then why are you doing it?’

If you talk about the film ‘Ludo’ then it is a dark comedy film. It will feature Abhishek alongside Aditya Roy Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Pankaj Tripathi. The film will be released on OTT platform Netflix from November 12. Apart from this, he will also be seen in the film ‘The Big Bull’ being made on the life of Harshad Mehta.
