  • Chitrangda Singh Reflects on Memorable Roles and Impact Over Screen Time in Bollywood’s Competitive Scene

Chitrangda Singh Reflects on Memorable Roles and Impact Over Screen Time in Bollywood’s Competitive Scene

Bollywood actress Chitrangda Singh, known for her thoughtful choice of roles, recently reflected on her remarkable year in 2025, which featured films like “Housefull 5,” “Parikrama,” and “Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders.” She expressed gratitude that even with a relatively small body of work, her performances have resonated with audiences over time.

    Impact Over Numbers

In an industry often focused on visibility and frequency, Chitrangda emphasizes that true memorability stems from the impact of a performance rather than its duration. She believes that more people are starting to realize that it’s not just about the quantity of work, but sometimes just one impactful scene can significantly elevate a role.

“Visibility is important, but ultimately it’s the quality of work that endures,” she stated. Although she acknowledges the need for memorable roles, she advocates for a balance: “I feel good work is always remembered.”

    Consistent Themes in Her Career

Since her debut in 2003 with “Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi,” where her nuanced performance garnered immediate attention, Chitrangda has consistently gravitated towards characters rich in emotional depth. Her recent role in “Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders” highlighted her belief that even restrained performances can leave a lasting impression.

“People don’t tend to forget good work. I feel very thankful that jitna bhi kaam kiya, even though it’s less, but people have remembered,” she shared. She posited that exceptional work often leads to more opportunities.

    Revisiting Female Representation in Noir

Chitrangda also discussed how “Raat Akeli Hai” addresses female representation within the noir genre, where women are frequently cast in conventional roles. She appreciated how the film broke away from the norm, avoiding the typical portrayals of women as victims or deceivers.

“I think maybe it has something to do with the fact that we have a female writer, Smita Singh, who has done such an amazing job,” she noted. While she recognizes that men can also create intriguing characters, she finds the diversity of perspectives exciting.

Chitrangda concluded, “It’s very easy to present a woman as devious and make her the obvious suspect.”

  • Michael J. Fox Thanks Crispin Glover for His Role in Back to the Future, Calls Him a “Brilliant Actor”

Michael J. Fox Thanks Crispin Glover for His Role in Back to the Future, Calls Him a “Brilliant Actor”

Hollywood actor Michael J. Fox has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Crispin Glover, labeling him a “brilliant actor” to collaborate with on the iconic film Back to the Future, 40 years after its release.

The 64-year-old actor recently penned a letter to Crispin, now 61, praising his “phenomenal role” as George McFly, the father of Michael’s character Marty McFly. This acknowledgment came as Michael realized he hadn’t had the chance to express his admiration during the filming of the 1985 sci-fi comedy.

Having rewatched Back to the Future while writing his memoir, Future Boy, which recounts his experiences making the movie, Michael found a renewed appreciation for Crispin’s performance. In his book, he shared, “In the process of preparing for this book, I wrote Crispin a letter. ‘Your performance is richer and deeper every time I see it. In fact, I skip over my bits to watch yours. Granted, we didn’t talk much during production, so I never had the chance to say that you are a brilliant actor, and I was thrilled to work with you.’”

In a memorable 1984 appearance, both actors starred in a season two episode of the sitcom Family Ties, titled Birthday Boy. Crispin portrayed Doug, a friend of Alex P. Keaton (Michael), and his timing delivered some of the episode’s biggest laughs.

Michael noted, “The interesting thing about Crispin as an actor is that he had no awareness of the audience. He wasn’t trying to milk the laughs. He was just naturally funny, and he crushed it on every take. I feel the same about his work in Back to the Future.”

Regarding Back to the Future, Michael was initially unprepared to work alongside seasoned actors like Christopher Lloyd, as most of the cast were rising stars. Crispin, however, did not return for the sequels Back to the Future II and Back to the Future III, reportedly due to creative differences.

Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and is set to premiere in theatres on January 23, 2026.

    Varun Dhawan’s Insights

Speaking about his role, Varun shared that portraying a soldier requires both physical stamina and mental discipline. He noted that Border 2 necessitated a heightened level of both, especially since filming took place at real locations like Babina. Varun emphasized that such conditions really immerse you in a soldier’s mindset: “You’re out there all day, often in tough conditions, so fitness becomes less about looking a certain way and more about stamina and recovery.”

    Behind-the-Scenes Tales from “Ajooba”

Sonam frequently shares such fond memories with her followers. Recently, she recounted a heartwarming story from the sets of her 1990 film “Ajooba.”

She revealed that during a chaotic dance shoot, Shashi Kapoor came to her aid by asking the choreographer to simplify her dance moves for the song “Main Matti Ka Gudda.”

Sonam described the overwhelming experience of shooting the song in Jaipur, where over 400 people gathered to watch. “This song #meinmattikagudda from #ajoobamovie was shot in Jaipur. Before we could say ‘Jack Robinson,’ a crowd of 400-plus people were watching us! There was no internet or social media then, so sighting actors was a rare occurrence. I literally had to be whisked away by police to my hotel after pack-up every day. It was overwhelming, surrounded by crowds and police. I kept forgetting my steps because I was super distracted by nonstop cat calls,” Sonam recalled.

She also shared how Shashi Kapoor supported her: “He told the choreographer to give me easier steps. When the choreographer asked, ‘Why is she an actress if she can’t dance?’ Shashi sir replied, ‘Take it easy, she is just a kid.’ That shut everyone up. I ran and hugged him immediately.”
