Saina Nehwal shares a still of Parineeti from her biopic “Saina”, called the actor her “look-alike”

Star Badminton player Saina Nehwal is one of the most popular shuttlers in India. She was named the world’s number 1 Shuttler in 2015 and is the second Indian player to achieve this feat after the respected Prakash Padukone. Seeing her achievements, it is necessary to get hopes high for her upcoming biopic, Saina, starring Parineeti Chopra as Nehwal herself.

Saina Nehwal recently shared Parineeti’s still from the movie and called the actor her lookalike. Parineeti can be seen in short hair in the picture with tic tac pins, just like Saina Nehwal’s signature tournament look. Parineeti has been very much dedicated to this movie which is being directed by Anmol Gupte. Reportedly, she has also pulled out of  Ajay Devgan’s Bhuj: The Pride of India to give adequate time to practice and replicate Saina’s way of playing Badminton. She shares her practice session pictures with her fans and one can see how much energy and motivation she is pouring into this project.

Initially Deepika Padukone, who is herself a state level Badminton player and is the daughter of Prakash Padukone, was being talked with for the project but it couldn’t happen. Then the showmakers selected Shraddha Kapoor for the film and she even started her training for the film. But she also had to pull out because of date clashes with Street Dancer 3D. Then finally, Parineeti bagged the place.

Saina’s biopic has been Anmol Gupte’s dream since 2015, it is finally in 2020 that the shooting is completed. Show makers haven’t declared the official release date. The cast is also not entirely known but reportedly, the film will be featuring Manav Kaul as well.
