Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar celebrated the birthdays of her cousin Farah Khan and brother Farhan Akhtar with a heartfelt tribute, emphasizing the significance behind their names.
A Coincidental Celebration of Names
Zoya noted that Farah, who turned 61, means “happiness,” while her brother Farhan, now 52, translates to “happy.” She expressed that no two people could embody their names more fittingly.
Sharing a nostalgic throwback picture along with a recent video of the siblings blowing out candles on a cake, Zoya expressed her love on Instagram. Her caption read: “Farah means Happiness and Farhan means Happy. No two people could have truer names. Love You Capri-9 @faroutakhtar @farahkhankunder. Happiest Birthday.”
Farhan’s Upcoming Film
Farhan Akhtar, a multi-talented artist, recently starred in “120 Bahadur,” a film inspired by the Battle of Rezang La (1962). This pivotal event in Indian military history saw 120 soldiers of Charlie Company courageously defending their position against over 3,000 Chinese troops.
“120 Bahadur” chronicles the courageous efforts of 120 Indian soldiers from the 13 Kumaon Regiment during this legendary battle. Farhan portrays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC, guiding his men through one of the most significant moments in military history.
The film focuses on the Battle of Rezang La, one of the critical conflicts of the Sino-Indian War, fought on November 18, 1962. The soldiers of Charlie Company, made up entirely of Ahirs, managed to inflict over 1,300 casualties on a much larger Chinese contingent.
Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Amit Chandrra, “120 Bahadur” is set to release in theaters on November 21, 2025.
