As promised, the makers of Yash’s much-anticipated period gangster drama, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups,” have revealed the first glimpse of his character, Raya, coinciding with his 40th birthday.
Filmmaker Karan Johar expressed his excitement after witnessing the action-packed preview, congratulating Yash on this memorable birthday announcement. KJo described the sneak peek into “Toxic” as “kick ass.” He shared the video on his Instagram Stories, writing, “WOW!!!! What a BIRTHDAY announcement!!! Truly ROCKING! @thenameisyash happy Birthday and this KICKS ASS! (sic).”
The Intense Preview
The clip opens against the eerie silence of a cemetery during a burial ceremony. We see Yash’s character in a car with a woman, sharing an intimate moment. Despite the bomb placed behind them, they appear unfazed.
However, the calm atmosphere quickly shatters with a sudden explosion and gunfire, leading to chaos. As smoke fills the air and bodies lie scattered, Raya emerges, armed with a Tommy gun and casually smoking a cigar.
“RAYA Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups in cinemas worldwide on 19-03-2026,” Yash captioned the post.

Earlier, the creators stirred interest by unveiling the first look of the leading ladies: Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria.

“Toxic” is set for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, aligned with Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa.
