Varun Dhawan shares memories of singing Diljit Dosanjh’s songs while promoting ‘Border 2’ film.

Actor Varun Dhawan, preparing for the release of his upcoming film ‘Border 2’, has shared insights from his collaboration with Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh.

At a special event for the film, Varun reflected on the time he spent with Diljit. He revealed that he often used to sing Diljit’s songs right in front of him. “We used to play cricket together. We used to work out together. So, we used to have fun together. We used to have ice-cream together. And we used to have fun with Diljit sir. I used to go to him and sing his songs to him,” Varun mentioned.

He humorously questioned his past actions, saying, “So, I don’t know, it happens sometimes. When someone is your favourite singer. I mean, I do these things. Why did I have to sing his songs to him?”

As anticipation builds for ‘Border 2’, the film is positioned as a sequel to J. P. Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster ‘Border’, which showcased the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India–Pakistan war. This sequel is aimed at being a large-scale patriotic drama, striving to recapture the military focus and essence that made the original a cultural landmark.

Sunny Deol, who portrayed Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri in ‘Border’, is confirmed to reprise his role in the sequel, ensuring a strong connection to the original film. Directed by Anurag Singh, known for Kesari (2019), ‘Border 2’ is expected to blend battlefield realism with compelling character-driven storytelling.

Production is set to be a collaborative effort, involving J. P. Dutta’s banner along with major studio backing, suggesting a significantly higher budget and modern production values.
