Varun Dhawan has experienced the heartbreaking loss of his beloved pet, Angel. In his grief, he expressed gratitude for the joy Angel brought into their lives, as well as for being a wonderful sister to his other fur friend, Joey.
Reflecting on the memories they shared, Varun took to his official Instagram and posted a compilation video highlighting some precious moments with Angel over the years.
The ‘October’ actor also penned a heartfelt goodbye note, saying, “Rip angel. Today heaven gained another angel. Think you for being a wonderful pup and an amazing sister to Joey; we will miss you. See you down the road (sic).”
Reacting to this sad news, actress Mouni Roy commented, “I’m so terribly sorry.” Mrunal Thakur expressed shock with a simple “WHAT.”
Varun has always been open about his love for his pets. During a recent appearance on the celebrity chat show, “Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle,” alongside Alia Bhatt, he revealed that he holds the same affection for his dog and his daughter, Lara.
When Varun mentioned he would do anything for his pet Joey, host Twinkle Khanna playfully inquired, “What about Lara?” Varun replied candidly, “To be honest, and I am not just saying this because we are on camera to sound cool, I don’t differentiate between both of them. I can’t. It’s the first time I have had a puppy, so the bond I have with him is on another level. I don’t think I can have it with another living being.”
He further shared how Joey’s arrival has profoundly influenced him as a person. “I personally changed a lot when I got Joey, my dog, my puppy. When I got him, I changed,” he stated.
This prompted a puzzled Twinkle to ask, “One second, you didn’t change when you had a baby, but you changed for the puppy?” To this, Alia chimed in, clarifying, “Joey came first!”
