Shweta Tripathi Plans Working New Year in Bhopal After Surprising ‘Mirzapur’ Team in Jaisalmer

Actress Shweta Tripathi recently shared that she is set to begin shooting for her new project in Bhopal, marking a working New Year for her.

New Year Plans with a Surprise

Shweta, who has just wrapped up filming the movie adaptation of “Mirzapur” in Rajasthan, expressed her excitement about the New Year. “I love surprises, so I travelled to Jaisalmer to surprise the entire cast and crew of Mirzapur,” she stated.

Reflecting on her visit, she mentioned that Jaisalmer holds cherished memories for her. “I had visited the city once as a child with my parents, and after many years, getting the chance to experience it again felt truly special, especially with the Mirzapur team—my other family—shooting there for the film. One of the highlights was a dinner in the dunes, with the moon above us.”

Connection to Nature

The actress emphasized her fondness for Jaisalmer’s natural beauty. “Nature has always drawn me in. I love being close to it, soaking it in, and simply existing within it. The peace and quiet is priceless. Perfect end to the year,” she shared.

Following her time in Jaisalmer, Shweta traveled to Phuket, Thailand, with her friends. “I brought in my New Year celebrations a little early, as I was scheduled to begin shooting for my next project in Bhopal from the last week of December, which means I’ll be having a working New Year.”

Welcoming the New Year in Bhopal

She added, “However, since the 31st and 1st are non-working days, my husband Cheeta is joining me here, and together we shall welcome the New Year at one of Bhopal’s beautiful heritage sites.”

Her upcoming film, which is yet untitled, is described as an intense drama that will be shot extensively across Bhopal and other regions of Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, “Mirzapur” revolves around Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, a crime boss and businessman, who rules the Mirzapur district in Uttar Pradesh.

The main cast of the first season includes Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. The second season retains most of the original cast, with some new additions like Vijay Varma, Isha Talwar, Lilliput, Anjum Sharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Anangsha Biswas, and Neha Sargam.
