The makers of director Sundar C’s upcoming devotional thriller, ‘Mookuthi Amman 2,’ featuring actress Nayanthara in the lead, announced that the shooting for this much-anticipated project has been completed.
Behind-the-Scenes Insights
Vels Film International, the production house behind the film, shared a BTS video on its X timeline, showcasing clips of the stars involved and their thoughts on the project. The video wraps up with director Sundar C confirming that shooting concluded on Tuesday evening.

Franchise Connection
In the BTS video, actress Urvasi noted that the second installment of the franchise would not be connected to the first part, which had become a major blockbuster. She also expressed how quickly the shooting process felt.
Director Sundar C revealed that over 2000 technicdigihunt had worked tirelessly on the film for more than six months, successfully completing the project. Other actors, including Regina Cassandra, Kannada star Duniya Vijay, Singam Puli, and Yogi Babu, shared their thoughts about the film. The video concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the wrap-up of shooting.
Fan Excitement and Nayanthara’s Dedication
The film has generated significant excitement among fans since its announcement. It is worth noting that producer Ishari K Ganesh previously mentioned that Nayanthara, who plays the titular role, had been fasting for a month to embody the goddess in the film.
At a pooja function held for the film’s official launch, Ishari K Ganesh shared, “I should tell about Nayanthara madam. She has been on a fast for almost a month now. She also fasted for a month before playing the character of Amman in Mookuthi Amman part 1 as well. She is excited about this character and the story.”
Ishari Ganesh revealed that five years ago, when actor R J Balaji suggested creating the first part of the franchise, he immediately agreed because ‘Mookuthi Amman’ was their family deity.
When discussing the casting for the titular role, he stated, “The one and only choice was Nayanthara. We approached her, and she readily agreed. The film met the expectations of the audience.”
He expressed his eagerness for a film on Goddess Amman after the first installment and decided to pursue a second one. “When I discussed this with my team, we concluded that the best person to direct this second part would be Sundar C, who is also hailed as the Franchise King,” Ishari K Ganesh noted.
