Legendary actress Shabana Azmi recently shared a glimpse of her New Year celebrations. On Friday, she took to Instagram to post a picture from an intimate dinner gathering with friends.
She captioned the photo, “First Jan night spent eating like a glutton.”
In the days leading up to the New Year, Shabana spent time in London, accompanied by her close friend Dia Mirza. Capturing their joyful moments, Shabana posted a picture where both ladies displayed their radiant smiles. While Dia gazed at the camera, Shabana looked at her, captioning it, “With lovely #Dia Mirza in London (sic).” Dia commented on the post, asking, “Why didn’t you post that stunning picture of YOU by the window?”
Saba Pataudi, the sister of Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan, also joined in with a comment, saying, “Me here too. Stay warm n have a great trip x.” Shabana and Dia share a close bond and often share delightful glimpses of their meet-ups on social media.
Recently, Dia received a special gift from Shabana—a beautiful yellow saree. She uploaded several photos showcasing the saree, expressing in her caption that wearing it represented everything Shabana’s mother, Shaukat Azmi, stood for. Dia included excerpts from the poem “Aurat,” written by Shabana’s father, Kaifi Azmi, for his beloved wife. She shared, “Uthh meri jaan mere saath hee chalna hain tujhe,” accompanied by the note on how the saree encapsulated Shaukat Azmi Ji’s essence.
