Pulkit Samrat: Film Budget Doesn’t Matter; Good Stories Always Connect with Audiences

Bollywood actor Pulkit Samrat shares his perspective on the ongoing debate surrounding big-budget versus smaller films, emphasizing that the financial aspects are secondary to the story’s impact on audiences.

Budget vs. Storytelling

In an exclusive conversation, Pulkit was asked about the prevalent discussions regarding the success of big-budget films compared to smaller ones. He firmly believes that regardless of the budget, compelling narratives resonate with viewers.

“Good stories always work,” he stated, adding that there will always be an audience for honest storytelling and strong performances. He highlighted that cinema is a collective experience, and audiences deserve entertainment, whether the film is a comedy, drama, or horror.

Upcoming Projects

On the work front, Pulkit is set to share screen space with his ‘Fukrey’ co-star Varun Sharma in the upcoming comedy film “Rahu Ketu.”

Describing his understanding of comedy, Pulkit remarked, “Comedy is as challenging as any other genre. Every scene demands effort. There is a misconception that comedy is easy, but that is far from the truth.” He elaborated on the delicate balance between being funny and overdoing it, noting that he has learned a lot about comic timing from Varun, whose exceptional sense of timing has contributed to his growth.

Directed by Vipul Vig, “Rahu Ketu” features an ensemble cast, including Shalini Pandey, Piyush Mishra, Chunky Pandey, Amit Sial, and Manurishi Chaddha, among others.

Anticipation for Release

Discussing his upcoming project, Pulkit expressed excitement, saying, “We’ve had the most fun shooting this full-on, hilariously twisted chaos of a film. Can’t wait for audiences to see what we’ve created.”

Produced by Zee Studios and BLive Productions, “Rahu Ketu” is set to hit the cinema halls on January 16, 2026.
