Kit Harington and Rose Leslie’s home targeted by thieves amid holiday break-ins in Suffolk area.

The ‘Game of Thrones’ star Kit Harington and his wife Rose Leslie recently became victims of a burglary at their home.

The couple, parents to a four-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter, were reportedly targeted during a series of break-ins in the Suffolk area leading up to Christmas. It remains unclear whether any valuables were taken or if the family was present during the incident, as reported by Female First UK.

Believed to be the intended victims, the burglars focused on an outbuilding at the couple’s $2.6 million country estate.

One local resident expressed deep concern, saying, “Everyone knows Kit and Rose are here, and we’re proud that they chose our little bit of the countryside to live in. But we’re also very protective of their privacy, so it was upsetting when we heard that they’d been broken into, along with some other local people. Unfortunately, rural crime is just a part of life out here these days, and everyone is much more on their guard than they used to be.”

The thieves also targeted another property in the village at the same time, leading Suffolk Police to intensify patrols in the area.

Kit Harington, 39, purchased the six-bedroom home in 2017, the year before marrying Rose Leslie. In 2021, they submitted a planning application aimed at enhancing the estate’s security and privacy, having claimed that their privacy had been “continuously breached” since moving in. Their application included a request for solid oak gates nearly 6 feet tall at two locations on the property, citing an increase in trespassing incidents driven by an “unwelcome and intrusive desire to observe the occupants.” They aimed to obstruct the previously “clear views” of their garden.

The application stated, “Since the change in ownership in 2017, the privacy and security of the occupants has been continuously breached. This is not in order to view the architectural and historic merits of the building, but purely from an unwelcome and intrusive desire to observe the occupants. While the new owners understand they generate a considerable amount of interest, this has sadly led to increasing incidents of unwelcome and unsolicited people coming onto the property.”

Furthermore, it emphasized, “The owners have a right to their privacy and quiet enjoyment of their property without intrusion. There are two key points which afford clear views into what would normally be considered private areas of garden for any householder. It is therefore proposed to install a pair of solid oak gates at both points. This will achieve an improved level of privacy and security for the occupants and help to minimize the constant invasion of that privacy.”
