Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez, who divorced actor-filmmaker Ben Affleck in 2025, has expressed that she is seeking a man who will “respect” her and “accept” her “for all that I am.”
Reflecting on love and heartbreak during her performance of the 1999 hit “If You Had My Love” at her Up All Night show in Las Vegas, she shared her thoughts on what she desires from her next partner.
Powerful Reflection on Love
In a clip shared on social media, Lopez addressed the audience at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, stating, “When I first sang it, I was very young. And I sang it with a lot of hope.”
She continued, “But I’ve also sung it over the years, I’ve sung it while I was sad. And I’ve sung it when I was happy. But now, today, you know how I sing it? I sing it in power. Because the truth is, if you wanted to have my love, you would have to earn it. You would have to treat me right. You would have to respect me. You’d have to accept me for all that I am. You’d have to love me if you wanted my love.”
Lopez emphasized, “You can’t have love without heartbreak. You can’t. That’s what you sign up for,” as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.
Focus on Family and Career
Despite outlining her criteria for a future partner, the “On The Floor” hitmaker is reportedly not ready to start dating again following her divorce. A source mentioned to people.com in December: “It’s all about work and the kids for her. She seems happy and content.”
Lopez shares 17-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony. She and Ben Affleck ended their first engagement in 2004 but rekindled their romance in 2021. They tied the knot in July 2022, with Lopez filing for divorce two years later, citing April 26, 2024, as the intended date of their separation.
Past Relationships
Lopez has been married three times: to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003, and Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014. Additionally, she was engaged to Alex Rodriguez in 2019 before their relationship ended in 2021.
