Popular Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa paid a heartfelt tribute to the legendary musician Ustad Puran Shah Koti, who passed away recently.

Randhawa shared a throwback clip on his official Instagram, capturing a jamming session where everyone in the room enjoyed the beautiful melodies provided by the Ustad. While playing the harmonium, he performed one of his melodious tunes.

The Punjabi musician emphasized that Ustad Puran Shah Koti’s significant contributions to the music industry will never be forgotten. He expressed his sentiments on Instagram, stating, “Ustaad Puran Shah Koti sir. A LEGEND FOREVER ❤️. Whole world will Remember him forever for his contribution to music and the artist he has given to this world. (sic).” He also added, “Always so much to learn from. World will miss you sir ❤️.”

For those unfamiliar, Ustad Puran Shah Koti had been battling a long-term illness and unfortunately succumbed to it at the age of 72.

His son, Master Saleem, who is also well-known in the Punjabi music scene, announced via his Instagram Stories that a prayer meeting in remembrance of his father would take place on December 23 at 13 KP Nagar, near Deol Nagar, Jalandhar.

According to reports, Ustad Puran Shah Koti once took shelter in a small hut when he moved to Shahkot in Jalandhar. It was here that he imparted his musical knowledge to prominent artists like Hans Raj Hans, Jasbir Jassi, and Sabar Koti, among others.

Reflecting on their bond, Ustad Puran Shah Koti had previously shared a picture with Hans Raj Hans on his Facebook page, illustrating the deep connection between the two artists.
