With each update from Yash’s highly anticipated period action drama “Toxic,” the excitement around the film is steadily growing. The latest buzz is centered on actress Tara Sutaria, who has been revealed in her first look as Rebecca in this action-packed entertainer.
“Introducing Tara Sutaria as REBECCA in – A Toxic Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups,” wrote Yash on social media while unveiling Tara’s new look. The poster showcases a strikingly fierce Tara dressed in a stunning black off-shoulder gown, accentuated by long black gloves and a chic short hairstyle that exudes a perfect retro vibe. Posing with a gun aimed at an unseen target, she carries an intense expression that adds to her bold persona.
Director Geetu Mohandas expressed her instincts about casting Tara as Rebecca, stating she has always felt a protective love for her character. “Perhaps it’s because she is a guarded soul, or perhaps it’s the armor she’s comfortable with. And perhaps it doesn’t need to be defined,” she elaborated.
Speaking on her collaboration with Tara, Geetu noted that she quickly realized the best approach was to give Tara the space to simply be herself rather than pushing her for more. This choice, she observed, shaped their working relationship into one that was calm, deeply professional, and perfectly aligned. “She observed more than she spoke. She listened more than she revealed,” Geetu noted, reflecting on their dynamic. “I often wondered if I should guide her more closely. But in her silence, something powerful was brewing. When she finally stepped into her performance, what emerged was nothing short of breathtaking, born from an inner understanding she carried all along.”
Geetu also admitted that Tara left her completely surprised in the most beautiful way. “I have no doubt she will surprise everyone else too,” she concluded.
In previous reveals, the filmmakers had also showcased the gripping first looks of other leading actresses, including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, and Huma Qureshi, from “Toxic,” which is set to release on 19th March 2026, coinciding with Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa.
