Well-known director M Rajesh’s upcoming comedy entertainer, featuring actor Jiiva in the lead role, has been titled “Jolliya Irrundha Oruthan,” as announced by the makers.
Celebrities from the Tamil film industry, including Santhanam, Arya, Vishal, and producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, unveiled the film’s title during actor Jiiva’s birthday celebrations.
A humorous title announcement video was also released on this occasion. In the promo, director M Rajesh, who is celebrated for hits like “Siva Manasulla Sakthi,” “Boss Engira Baskaran,” and “Oru Kal Oru Kannadi,” along with Jiiva, is seen dressed as sheikhs while waiting for music director Yuvan Shankar Raja at a hotel in Dubai.
Upon Yuvan Shankar Raja’s arrival, the duo greets him. Yuvan, surprised by their attire, inquires about their outfits. Director Rajesh explains, “The producer told us that you were in Dubai and asked us to come in the same vibe and get songs from you for our film.”
Yuvan humorously responds, “If you are dressed like this, there won’t be songs, only laughter.” He suggests they change their clothes, but the duo reveals they don’t have any other attire.
Despite this, Yuvan decides to continue the discussion about the film and asks, “Many are wondering if this is the second part of ‘Siva Manasulla Sakthi’?” Rajesh clarifies, “This is not SMS 2. But it will have the same vibe. You can even say it is from the same universe.”
Yuvan then requests Rajesh to narrate the film’s story, to which Rajesh describes it as a love story filled with puns. He explains that it tells how a happy-go-lucky guy is worn down by a relationship, similar to how a washing machine cleans and dries a piece of cloth.
When Yuvan asks for the title, they reveal, “Jolliya Irrundha Oruthan.” As Yuvan attempts to create an acronym from the title, the hero and director plead with him, fearing it could lead to copyright issues.
Curious about the timeline, Yuvan questions how long it took to compose the songs for “Siva Manasulla Sakthi.” Rajesh mentions it took three days, to which Yuvan confidently replies, “We will compose all the songs of this film in two days.”
Excited, Rajesh asks when Yuvan will start working on the music. Yuvan responds, “I will call and let you know when those two days will come.” While the phone does ring, it isn’t Yuvan calling; it’s the rental service for the Sheikh costumes.
Rajesh remarks, “Let us go now, otherwise the producer might add this cost to the budget of the film,” as they rush to leave.
The film marks Jiiva’s 47th project, produced by Malik Streams. Sources indicate that “Jolliya Irrundha Oruthan” will be a refreshing entertainer blending love, heartbreak, and humor.
Cinematography will be handled by M Sukumar, with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Editing will be by Ashish Joseph, and art direction will be led by Hasini Pavithra.
