Charlie Puth sings to baby bump, hopes his child loves music like he does before March arrival.

Singer-songwriter Charlie Puth is eager for his child to develop a strong affinity for music. He recently shared that he sings songs to his baby.

The four-time Grammy award nominee has been serenading his wife Brooke Sansone’s baby bump with a rendition of “Something in the Way She Moves” by James Taylor, hoping that the soon-to-arrive newborn, expected in March, will enjoy music. Puth revealed that his own mother, music educator Debra Puth, introduced him to a diverse range of music from a young age. In an interview with Extra, he stated, “I sing ‘Something in the Way She Moves’ by James Taylor because that’s what my mom sang to me.”

Charlie humorously mentioned that he performs his own tracks to familiarize the baby with his “whole discography.” He joked, “And I sing baby, my music because if baby doesn’t arrive knowing my whole discography, I’m going to be a sad dad. I’m just kidding! Baby can be whatever baby wants to be.”

As per reports, the hitmaker behind “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” who is keeping the sex of his and Brooke’s first child a secret, plans to release his new album, “Whatever’s Clever,” in March 2026. He has expressed that fatherhood is his “favourite change ever,” emphasizing that this time he is prioritizing life over music.

“It’s different because I put life first and then let music follow,” he explained. “Usually, I come up with the musical motif and then fit life into it. This time, it was almost like a therapy session, and then it just happened to have a melody.”

Charlie, who announced the pregnancy in his new single “Changes,” added, “I think right now, you have to be as human as possible. There are a lot of new, no pun intended, changes happening in my life, and I realized there were many things I hadn’t sung about yet. That’s what this album is going to be filled with.”

He has also teased that he’ll perform “Changes,” the first single from “Whatever’s Clever,” along with other hits on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest on December 31. Charlie emphasized that family life now takes precedence over his music career, stating, “Other than getting married, fatherhood is the first time that surpasses music. Music has always been my favourite thing. Getting married surpassed that, and now there are things above music.”

In a previous appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” he expressed his hopes that he and Brooke’s baby “likes music.”
