Marking Prabhas’ 46th birthday, the makers of his highly anticipated project “Spirit” have officially announced the film on social media.

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who was initially part of director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film, reacted to the first glimpse of the drama. She expressed her feelings on social media, stating, “I am sad but wonderful video Sandeep Reddy and happy birthday #Prabhas sir.”

For those unfamiliar, Deepika has been replaced by Triptii Dimri in this project. Although the exact reason for her exit remains unclear, reports suggest that the director was put off by a long list of demands from Deepika, which allegedly included limited working hours, a substantial paycheck, and a share of the film’s profits.

Returning to the announcement, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga celebrated Prabhas’ birthday by releasing the first ‘sound story’ from “Spirit.” He shared an audio teaser on his X (formerly Twitter) handle in five Indian languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

The approximately one-minute audio teaser features a jailer and his assistant discussing an ex-cop currently in their remand. In the clip, the jailer instructs his assistant on how to treat the inmate, while the assistant advises maintaining decorum. The jailer’s orders include stripping the prisoner, searching him, and sending him for tests.

Alongside the video, Sandeep Reddy Vanga wrote, “Happy Birthday Prabhas anna. Presenting a ‘SOUND-STORY’ in five Indian languages straight from the heart, for every fan who’s felt his (sic).”

The clip also confirmed the primary cast of the film, which includes Triptii Dimri, Kanchana, Prakash Raj, and Vivek Oberoi, alongside Prabhas.

Television actress Surbhi Chandna added her own special flair to the auspicious occasion of Bhai Dooj by starting a new tradition with her nephew.

Ace director Vetrimaaran officially launched actor Ken Karunaas’s upcoming film by directing the first shot of the project, creating a buzz among all attendees.

Actor Karthi clapped the board for the inaugural shot of the untitled film, marking the directorial debut of Ken Karunaas, who is well-known for his compelling performances in films like ‘Asuran’ and ‘Viduthalai 2.’ In addition to directing, Ken will also take on the lead role.

For those unfamiliar, Ken Karunaas is the son of actor Karunaas and Grace Karunaas.

Paarvatha Entertainment, the production house behind this film, shared the moment on Instagram, posting a picture of Ken embracing director Vetrimaaran after the first shot. The caption read, “Our #ProductionNo1 journey begins with the blessings of Vaathiyar (teacher) @vetrimaaran_official sir. First shot taken by the master himself. Pure goosebumps. Pure gratitude.”

The launch event saw attendance from several leading celebrities in the film industry.

Alongside Ken Karunaas, the film will feature a talented cast, including Malayalam star Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anisma Anil Kumar, Meenakshi Dinesh, Priyanshi Yadav, Devadarshini, and others in significant roles.

Vicky will handle the cinematography, while the musical score will be composed by G V Prakash Kumar, a two-time National Award-winning music director. Editing duties will fall to Nash, and Ramu Thangaraj will oversee the art direction.

Kavya Sriram, known for her work as the exclusive costume designer for Tamil star Dhanush, has been brought on board as the costume designer for this project.

Set against a school backdrop, the film is produced by Karuppiah C. Ram, Kali Rajkumar, and Sulochana Kumar under the banners of Parvatha Entertainment and Street Boy Studio, with a grand budget.

In addition to Vetrimaaran and Karthi, other notable celebrities from the Tamil film industry present at the launch included Vishal, actor and director R. J. Balaji, and producers Kalaipuli S. Thanu, Dr. Isari K. Ganesh, and Arun. The guests congratulated the film crew on this momentous occasion.

He has shared his philosophical thoughts on how AI will shape the future and the structure of organizations.

On Thursday, the filmmaker expressed his reflections on X, formerly known as Twitter, regarding the intriguing world of AI.

Key Insights on AI and Organizations

Kapur began with a thought-provoking question: “Will your organisation survive AI?” He described AI as perhaps the most democratic technology available to humanity.

He stated, “AI will change everything. It’s an existential change to the way we live, the way we work, the way we communicate. But it’s also a complete change in how we organise ourselves into structures. Maybe we should stop calling it ‘Structure’. For ‘Structure’ suggests some permanence. In the world of AI, change is constant. Change at an unprecedented pace. AI will suck inertia out of existing structures—out of the pathways of hierarchical command systems, causing the ‘pyramidal’ structures to collapse.”

Kapur further questioned, “What does an organisation look like in the world of AI? With no hierarchy, no chain of commands? No structure? Of course, one might wonder ‘why do we need organisations’. The reason is that like most living beings, we are tribal.”

He elaborated, “We need to group together. Whatever we’re told about individualism by the so-called Gurus falls false, for are they not themselves creating tribalism around themselves? Let’s look at ‘the murmurings of the sparrows’ where flocks of hundreds or thousands form patterns in the sky, changing their paths instantly with no apparent leader or follower. What’s at work here is Intuition. Each sparrow is intuitively connected to the group. Intuition will guide our new way of organising, and these groups will never be permanent. Individuals will constantly move from one tribe to another. So don’t look for permanent employees anymore. Everyone will have the capacity to be their own CEO, exploring their own potential. It’s no longer about employees losing jobs; the CEOs too are under threat. That’s just a lie ‘employers’ tell themselves, struggling to accept the real impact of AI that is coming or already here.”

He continued, “Knowledge and information (even education) is no longer the preserve of the few. AI will ensure it is available to anyone. And experience? It is a word that is either passing or has passed its due date. In fact, in this ever-changing world, experience is likely a liability. Intuition will be the most valued ability in the world of AI.”

Kapur concluded, “Let’s face it, intuition is often propelled by need. For example, I’m at my creative best when I panic. That moment, that need, that desperation, is at the bottom of the pyramid. Like a volcano, that change will erupt upwards, toppling the top of the Pyramid. Welcome to the new world of AI.”

The legendary American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses has issued a clarification regarding frontman Axl Rose’s erratic behavior onstage in Argentina.

The band stated that Axl’s actions were not related to the performance of their new drummer, Isaac Carpenter. During a chaotic gig at Estadio Huracan in Buenos Aires, Axl threw his microphone and kicked Isaac’s drum kit.

As reported, the hard rock veterans were performing their opening song, “Welcome to the Jungle,” when Axl appeared visibly irritated. Viral footage from the concert showed him hurling his microphone towards the drum kit, kicking the kick drum, and storming off stage. In a brief comment to the crowd, he said, “So, I’ll just try and wing this.”

A few days later, the band clarified that the situation stemmed from the 63-year-old singer only hearing the drum mix through his in-ear monitor. They emphasized that he has no issues with Isaac, whom they described as a “top notch” drummer.

A statement on the band’s Instagram Story read, “During the opening song at our recent Buenos Aires concert, Axl’s in-ear monitor pack had only the percussion in his ears versus the entire mix. The issue was fixed by our tech by the third song, and we had a great night. The situation had nothing to do with Isaac Carpenter’s playing, who is top notch and a great player.”

Earlier this year, Guns N’ Roses parted ways with longtime drummer Frank Ferrer, who had been with the band for almost two decades. Frank joined in June 2006, replacing Bryan Mantia, and his last show was in November 2023.

The current lineup of the band features Axl, Slash, Duff McKagan, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Melissa Reese, and Isaac. The official statement mentioned that Frank made an “amicable exit,” although he later expressed disappointment regarding the end of his tenure with the band.

He recounted, “Sridevi’s mother asked me for INR 10 lakhs, and I offered her INR 11 lakhs. She was a top star. She remarked, ‘My mom will talk as usual’. That was our first meeting.”

Continuing his story, he said, “We were shooting in a bungalow at Ruia Park. I traveled to Chennai to speak with her mother. Although Sridevi didn’t know Hindi or English, my communication skills helped me understand her gestures. She conveyed, ‘Pappi, price INR 10 rupees’. In this context, INR 10 rupees meant INR 10 lakhs. After researching, I discovered she had signed her last film for INR 8.5 lakhs. I thought, ‘She signed for INR 8.5 lakhs, I’ll offer her 9’. When she mentioned ‘10 rupees’, I firmly said, ‘No’. At that point, she froze for 10 seconds, and I quickly followed with, ‘I’ll pay 11’. After her pause for 15 seconds, she added, ‘Staff money is separate, INR 30,000’. I replied, ‘No, I’ll give 50,000’. So, when I confirmed the 11 lakhs, there was a condition.”

He recalled, “Her mother asked, ‘Who will pay INR 15 lakhs?’ So, I approached Yash Chopra and secured her signing for ‘Chandni’ at INR 15 lakhs, much to their delight. When I spoke with her mother for the next film, she proposed, ‘For you, 14’. I countered, ‘Why? I’ll pay INR 16 lakhs. But with one condition: for the next film, she must sign for INR 25 lakhs’. Her mother stated, ‘Who will give 25?’ Eventually, in ‘Khuda Gawah’, she received INR 25 lakhs.”

Lawsuit Details

The lawsuit revolves around a snippet of the song that Lizzo featured in a TikTok video over the summer. In the video, she referenced Sydney Sweeney’s controversial American Eagle advertisement, singing, “B****, I got good jeans like I’m Sydney”.

Lizzo is accused of sampling elements from the ’70s soul track ‘Win or Lose (We Tried)’ by Sam Dees. The filing, submitted on October 21 by Georgia-based rights holder GRC Trust, lists Jimmy Ginn as the publishing rights owner. Although the song has not been commercially released, the complainant asserts that the 13-second preview on social media provided enough exposure to make Lizzo liable.

Attempts at Resolution

According to reports, the GRC Trust indicated that they had tried to reach an agreement with Lizzo, but “reached an impasse, necessitating the filing of this case”.

In response, Lizzo’s representatives expressed surprise at the lawsuit, clarifying that the song has never been commercially released or monetized, and no decisions have been made regarding a future commercial release.

Streaming Concerns

Meanwhile, Lizzo recently shared her anxieties about streaming algorithms, voicing concerns that her fans “don’t even know” she has released new music. Last month, the pop star dropped the mixtape My Face Hurts From Smiling, which features 13 tracks and collaborations with SZA and Doja Cat.
