Singer-songwriter King, celebrated for viral hits like ‘Maan Meri Jaan’, ‘Tu Jaana Na Piya’, and ‘Tu Aake Dekhle’, has revealed the secret behind his impressive success and growth.
During the promotional campaign for the recently released streaming music reality show ‘I-popstar’, where he serves as one of the mentors, King shared insights into his journey.
“When you get a chance to enter rooms that are 10 times bigger than your personality, you learn. A person like me learns from it. When you’re in a room with people who are bigger than you, your mind subconsciously starts upping the ante to fit in or be at par with them. I always strive to keep it that way,” he explained.
King emphasized that he avoids “useless rooms.” “I won’t go to rooms where I am the biggest. Where’s the growth in that? I want to be in spaces where I can learn from people bigger than me. That’s where the real growth happens,” he added.
Earlier, King released his EP ‘Shayad Koi Na Sune’ and expressed his desire to create music that resonates deeply rather than just fills playlists or climbs charts.
“I didn’t want to make something that merely fills playlists or climbs charts; I wanted to create something that stays with you when nobody’s around,” King said about the album.
He shared that these songs capture thoughts he has held for a long time but rarely voiced.
“They’re not polished confessions; they’re messy, quiet truths about feeling unseen, about growing when no one’s watching, about accepting that not everything has to be big to matter. I called it ‘Shayad Koi Na Sune’ because I knew maybe no one would hear it, and that’s okay. I created this for moments of honesty with yourself, even if the world isn’t listening. If even one person feels a little less alone hearing these songs, then that’s enough for me.”
