Hollywood actress Amanda Seyfried has shared her vision for her character from ‘Mamma Mia’. Seyfried believes that motherhood fits her role beautifully.
The actress made an appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘The Testament of Ann Lee’ and opened up about what she imagines Sophie’s life to be like if ‘Mamma Mia 3’ were to be made, according to ‘People’ magazine.
She conveyed her thoughts, saying, “Oh, with kids. I mean, I love being a mother,” reflecting on her character from ‘Mamma Mia!’ and her personal experience. “I love playing a mother, and I would love to dive into the curiosities of motherhood and raising children on a Greek island, just like Donna did with Sophie.”
In the 2008 musical romantic comedy, Meryl Streep portrayed Sophie’s mother. Seyfried also discussed the potential storyline of Sophie embracing motherhood.
“I think that would be really interesting. I have no idea where the story is going to go, but I know there’s going to be a lot of singing and dancing. I’m going to keep campaigning for that movie until I’m blue in the face,” she expressed.
According to ‘People’, a script for ‘Mamma Mia 3’, which would follow the 2018 prequel-sequel ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’, has already been completed and the film is currently in development, as confirmed by producer Judy Craymer.
“Well, we know what we want to do with the movie, and it will happen,” Craymer stated while discussing the possibility of pop star Sabrina Carpenter joining the cast, presumably alongside Seyfried and the 76-year-old Streep.
In her personal life, Amanda Seyfried is well-acquainted with motherhood, sharing her daughter, Nina, 8, and son, Thomas, 5, with husband Thomas Sadoski. The couple got engaged in 2016 and eloped in a private ceremony in 2017. They now reside on a farm with their children.
