On the work front, the two will star in The Great Shamshuddin Family. Set over a single day in Delhi, the story revolves around Bani as family members—including mothers, aunts, cousins, and former romantic interests—descend on her apartment, each bringing their unique emergencies. As Bani navigates interfaith complexities, generational conflicts, and family expectations, she faces a dilemma: choose international career opportunities or stay close to her family, as reported by variety.com.
The film features an impressive cast, including Farida Jalal, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Juhi Babbar Soni, and Sheeba Chadda. The Great Shamshuddin Family is set to premiere on JioHotstar on December 12.
Kritika previously dated her Kitani Mohabbat Hai co-star Karan Kundra. She made her acting debut in 2007 with Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar. In 2009, she gained popularity as Arohi, a singer in Kitani Mohabbat Hai, opposite Karan. Following this, she appeared in Pyaar Ka Bandhan, Kitani Mohabbat Hai 2, and Kuch Toh Log Kahenge.
