Raksha Bandhan 2018 With Shubh Muhurat, History and Puja vidhi: Raksha Bandhan, or Rakhi as it is regularly called, falls on Sunday, 26 August 2018. The celebration is celebrated yearly on the full moon day or Purnima of the Shravana month of the Hindu calendar (Panchang). Rakhi celebrates the security amongst sibling and sister and is celebrated by Hindus and Jains in India, Nepal, and Mauritius, among different nations.

On this day, sisters tie Rakhi (threads) around the wrists of their siblings as a demonstration of their affection and love. Brothers give the commitment to secure the sisters in return. Vidhi / Method of performing the Puja

For Sisters:

• Lord Ganesha should be worship in the early morning.
• Prepare a Rakhi plate with Kumkum powder (tilak), Rice, Sweets, and Rakhi.
• Light up a Diya.
• Apply tilak on your brother’s forehead with Kum-Kum and Rice.
• Then Tie Rakhi on the right wrist of your brother.
• Move plate in a circular motion to worship your brother for his long life.
• Offer a piece of sweets to him.

For Brothers:

• After sister ties, rakhi, give her blessing cash and gifts.
• Promise her to protect for the life in every condition.

Emperor Humayun and Rani Karnavati – Sister Comes First

This is a genuine Raksha Bandhan story that is said to have happened long back when India was being ruled by the Mughal rulers. At that time, the Rajputs in Chittor, Rajasthan, suffered the danger of attack from the Mughal king Bahadur Shah. Chittor was being ruled by Rani Karnawati.

Rani Karnawati realized that the Mughals were highly forceful and that she would never want to overcome them in the fight. She realized that her kingdom was struggling from war and that there was little expectation of surviving it. As a last expectation, He sent Rakhi to the Mughal Emperor Humayun, who was later running a military operation in any other area. She sent this as a symbol of love from a sister, giving Humayun the status of a sibling, and requesting to protect her.

Humayun was a strong and courageous emperor. He usually did not change his military plans for anyone or anything. But, he couldn’t deny this wonderful symbol of love. For his Rakhi sister, He asked his army to change direction. He immediately moves to encourage her and make a promise that no matter what, he would ensure his sister under all conditions.

Sadly, Humayun could not save the Rani Karnawati. Before reaching, Bahadur Shah entered Chittoor and ruined the palace. But still, disappointing ways in which Humayun left everything for his sister, and ensured that his sister had come before, has become a permanent legend in defense bond history.
