What after BCA?| Career Goal
BCA stands for Bachelor of Computer Application. It’s a three-year bachelor’s degree program for candidates looking to enter the world of computer language. One of the most popular options for starting a career in information technology, the course gives you insight into the world of computers and its applications.
But after taking a course in haste most of the students asked for what next! So here’s your answer. There are many options to reach your career goal after BCA.
The first and foremost option is a master’s degree i.e MCA. It’s for 3 years again. There was a discussion going to reduce MCA to 2yrs, but until it’s 3 yrs only. May change later. Students have to sit for entrance examinations to pursue MCA and NIT’s are best to pursue MCA though there present many institutions. Also in master’s, a BCA candidate can change their path towards MBA.
Secondly, ofcourse one can sit for placements and grab an office job. As a fresher, salary starts from 10-15k, but after 4 to 5yrs of experience in the field, salary may rise upto 2lakh a month or more depending upon the candidate’s skill.
Thirdly, its self-employment. Students can register themselves as freelancers. Many positions are there. Be a programmer or web-developer, whatever skill he/she has. It’s quite challenging as a fresher but after having 3 to 4yrs of industry experience one can grab this chance as per their qualifications or skills.
Then, if you’re a knowledge sucker and love teaching professions, after MCA go for that. Or if you’re interested in the research field on computer’s world, apply for M.phil. After MCA, you can also do M.tech then Phd also.
And lastly, if you don’t love the tension of the private sector and seek a secure job upto old age, just go for any government job those eligibility criteria is graduation. For example, UPSC, SSC, BANK PO, RRB..and all those.
