Music composer Eshaan, part of the renowned trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, has sparked nostalgia among fans by sharing a rare throwback picture from the composing session of the iconic song “Kal Ho Naa Ho.”

The image features Eshaan, Shankar Mahadevan, Loy, along with director Nikhil Advani and veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar. Eshaan captioned the post: “The only picture that exists of @shankarehsaanloy @shankar.mahadevan @loymendonsaofficial at the composing session for #kalhonaaaho with director @nikkhiladvani and @jaduakhtar. According to the caption, the photo was taken during a late-night music session in 2003 inside a Mumbai studio. It notes that producer Yash Johar was not present in these particular frames, though he played a crucial role in the film’s creation.

For those unfamiliar, “Kal Ho Naa Ho” featured in the 2003 Bollywood film of the same name, directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Yash Johar under Dharma Productions. The film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta in lead roles, along with a stellar supporting cast that included Jaya Bachchan, Sushma Seth, Reema Lagoo, Delnaaz Irani, Lilette Dubey, Ketki Dave, Simone Singh (special appearance), and others.

The title track was sung by Sonu Nigam, composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, and penned by Javed Akhtar. Released on November 28, 2003, “Kal Ho Naa Ho” performed exceptionally well at the box office, gaining both commercial success and critical acclaim. The movie also featured cameos by Sonali Bendre and Sanjay Kapoor.
