For Chitrangda Singh, certain opportunities come unexpectedly, and that’s precisely what made “The Battle of Galwan” so significant. She admits that she never imagined being part of a film with Salman Khan, despite knowing the superstar socially for years.
Surprise Call for a Major Role
Reflecting on her initial reaction to being cast opposite Salman, Chitrangda shared, “I got a call from Apoorva Lakhia (director), and I was like, ‘Really?’ I wasn’t so sure that I’d ever end up doing a Salman Khan film. I mean, I don’t even think I ever pitched myself for work with him, even though we’ve known each other socially for a long time.”
She added, “We never discussed work or I never approached him, so it’s definitely something which was a huge surprise.”
Emotionally Charged Storyline
In discussing “The Battle of Galwan,” which focuses on a real and emotionally charged incident, she said, “Yes, I think commercially it’s going to be a big one, Galwan, and it is at the same time rooted in very real incidents. So I think that’s a great combination for cinema, and I am very excited especially because I come from an army background.”
Chitrangda recalled the widespread discussions surrounding the events at that time, which emphasizes the film’s cultural significance.
Pride in Her Heritage
Being from an army family, she expressed her pride in participating in a film like “The Battle of Galwan.” “I’m excited to be part of something that resonates with my world. I’m very proud to be a daughter of an army man. It’s very exciting, and I’m happy to be part of this. It’s not just a film; it’s an important film,” she remarked.
