Sharmila Tagore recently shared insights about what she has learned from her granddaughter, Sara Ali Khan, expressing pride in Sara’s well-behaved nature despite coming from an acting family.
Podcast Discussion
The duo was featured on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, “ALL ABOUT HER,” where they discussed their learning experiences from each other. Sharmila remarked on Sara’s spontaneity and friendliness, saying, “I found her very spontaneous, very friendly without being very friendly but she was very welcoming and extremely witty… Like you know her lovely Instagram captions.”
Sara humorously added, “Limericks, badhi amma calls them,” to which Sharmila responded that Sara is remarkable with them and emphasized that “it’s all her.”
Proud Family Heritage
Sharmila expressed her admiration for Sara’s professionalism during film shoots, stating, “The way she conducts herself. So professionally, I have seen her in her film set and it is very nice. I am very proud and happy that despite coming from an actor’s family, she’s so down to earth and well-behaved.”
Sharmila married Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi in 1968, and they have three children: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, Saba Ali Khan, and Soha Ali Khan. Saif was previously married to actress Amrita Singh from 1991 to 2004, with whom he has two children, Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan. He later married actress Kareena Kapoor in 2012, and they have two sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan.
Sara’s Upcoming Projects
Sara was last seen in “Metro… In Dino,” a spiritual sequel to the 2007 film “Life in a… Metro.” The film features a stellar cast, including Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh. The narrative weaves multiple contemporary love stories set in urban India, exploring themes of connection, loneliness, and emotional vulnerability in modern relationships. The film’s title connects thematically to the song “In Dino” from its predecessor.
Looking ahead, Sara will appear in “Pati Patni Aur Woh Do,” alongside Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi.
