Hollywood star Keanu Reeves is expressing deep gratitude to the FBI for recovering items that were stolen from his home in a burglary back in 2023.

The 61-year-old actor’s property in Los Angeles fell victim to thieves two years ago. However, US authorities collaborated with officials in Chile to locate some of Keanu’s stolen belongings, including a personalized Rolex watch featured in his iconic ‘John Wick’ films. These items have now been successfully returned to him, according to reports from ‘Female First UK’.

In a handwritten letter, Keanu thanked the FBI, stating, “It is with profound gratitude and appreciation that I am writing this letter. Thank you so much for all your effort, dedication, professionalism, and cross-border cooperation. My warmest regards, Keanu.”

Los Angeles Police Department Chief of Police Jim McDonnell commented on the matter, saying, “This case underscores how crime today knows no borders, and how vital our international partnerships are in bringing justice to victims here in Los Angeles. The recovery of these stolen items, thanks to the outstanding collaboration between the Policía de Investigaciones de Chile, the FBI, and our detectives, sends a strong message that organized theft groups will be pursued wherever they operate. I am proud of the work our team has done alongside our federal and international partners to hold these criminal networks accountable.”

The stolen items were recovered in July and included six watches with a combined value of approximately $125,000.

For those unfamiliar, ‘Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku’ (which translates to the murder case of Lakshmikanthan) centers around the murder of a prominent journalist that occurred several decades ago, entwined with the sensational involvement of iconic Tamil cinema figures. This case has been a captivating narrative that shook the nation.

Over the years, various creators have tried to recreate this intriguing chapter through fictional narratives, but none have succeeded thus far. A passionate team of filmmakers is now set on bringing this long-desired cinematic vision to life.

Discussing the film and the inclusion of historian Suba Veerapandian, director Dayal Padmanabhan stated, “This incident was widely discussed in Tamil Nadu. Our film is crafted after extensive research on the case. We are thrilled to have Suba Veerapandian sir on board to enrich the authenticity and depth of our narrative. Suparn S Varma, director of the recently released film ‘Haq’, has come forward to defend fellow filmmaker Aditya Dhar.

Aditya has faced criticism due to the high level of violence depicted in the trailer for his upcoming movie ‘Dhurandhar’. Varma criticized the hypocrisy in the industry and among audiences, pointing out that they often shower praise on international films featuring similar gritty and violent sequences.

He highlighted the industry’s tendency to judge Indian films more harshly than foreign ones. With Aditya Dhar’s film set to hit theaters, Varma believes it’s time to end this bias.

In a detailed note on his Instagram Story, he expressed his astonishment at the discussions surrounding the violence in #Dhurandhar. He shared, “I’m just amazed by some of the chatter about the violence in #Dhurandhar the same viewers would have called it cinematic brilliance if this was in any other language or a Korean or Japanese film. He mentioned iconic figures like Charlie Chaplin as examples of the politics of class divide. “Politics comes in comedy, Charlie Chaplin films are political. For instance, ‘The Tramp’ is the most political figure you will ever see, so it’s have and have nots,” he explained. He emphasized that where there is power, there is politics, which is present even in narratives surrounding family dynamics.
