Ghaziabad Development Authority To Enforce Land Sale Restrictions For Harnandipuram Project
The authority will acquire 541.1 hectares of land.

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) recently started its land acquisition for the Harnandipuram Township projects. According to reports, the purchase and sale of the plots in the eight villages is set to be restricted soon. The authority will acquire 541.1 hectares of land. Many a time, outsiders often buy large amounts of land designated for a new project and later sell them at high prices earning significant profits. This practice often becomes a problem for the farmers, who are the real owners of the land.
To prevent this and protect farmers from losses, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has decided to enforce Section 11 of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013 in all eight villages. The eight villages where the restrictions are set to be imposed are Nangla Feroj Mohanpur, Morta, Bhaupura, Ataur, Champat Nagar, Shamsher, Bhadi Khurd, Mathurapur and Shahpur Nij Morta.
According to a report by the Times of India, the Ghaziabad Development Authority approved the map of this township near the Hindon River in August, this year. The officials have also started the survey of the plots. GDA Secretary Rajesh Singh explained that outsiders tend to buy large amounts of land that are designated for the project, to gain significant profit. This practice highly affects the farmers who sell the land. To prevent this, Section 11 is set to be enforced soon in all the villages.
The official further mentioned that a notification would be issued within a month. “GDA is keeping a close watch on the acquisition of plots in the designated township area,” GDA Secretary Rajesh Singh added. However, farmers can continue to exchange land among themselves.
According to the proposed plan, the largest amount of land, 247.8 hectares, will be acquired from the village of Nangla Feroj Mohanpur, followed by 123.97 hectares from the Shamsher village. Adding to it, around 11.8 hectares of land is set to be acquired from the village of Bhadi Khurd, 8.7 hectares from Mathurapur, 39.2 hectares from Champat Nagar, 54.2 hectares from Shahpur Nij Morta, 2.6 hectares from Bhaupura and 2.6 hectares Morta.
