Shreyas Iyer, Mother Buy 525 Sqft Apartment In Mumbai for Rs 2.9 Crore

Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer and his mother Rohini Iyer have purchased a new residential property in Mumbai. As per property registration documents accessed by Zapkey, the apartment, located in Worli’s Adarsh Nagar area, has been bought for Rs 2.9 crore. The property is on the 2nd floor of Triveni Industrial CHSL and has a carpet area of 525 sq ft.

Iyer and his mother purchased the apartment at a rate of Rs 55,238 per sq ft. The duo paid a stamp duty of Rs 17.40 lakh and Rs 30,000 as registration charges for the transaction carried out on September 19, as reported by the Hindustan Times.

This is not the only property Shreyas Iyer owns in Mumbai. The batter has an apartment in Lodha World Towers– one of the tallest buildings in the city.

Back in September 2020, Iyer purchased a 2,380 sq ft apartment on the 48th floor of The World Towers from the Macrotech Developers.

According to the documents accessed by Zapkey, the deal also included the ownership of three parking spaces.

In July this year, Shreyas Iyer acquired an income-yielding commercial property in Mumbai for Rs 2.9 crore. Iyer purchased the 510 sq ft property at a rate of Rs 56,863 per sq ft.

The cost of luxury apartments in Worli ranges from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh per sq ft. Several top-tier real estate developers including Oberoi Realty and Macrotech Developers (Lodha) currently lead the micro market of the the neighbourhood

In May, Oberoi announced that they would redevelop seven old buildings in the Adarsh Nagar area. The company received a 6.24 lakh sq ft RERA carpet which they could sell in the open market.

Shreyas Iyer was last seen in action in the recently concluded Duleep Trophy. He has been selected in the Mumbai squad, set to feature in the Irani Cup under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane. Iyer will look to make a strong statement in the Domestic tournament as he seeks to recapture his place in the Indian team.
