‘Cinema Marte Dum Tak’ creator Vasan Bala says, “It’s a collective victory” on the success of the documentary series
With the release of Amazon Original reality docu-series ‘Cinema Marte Dum Tak’ fans have been unable to maintain the calm and are continuously pouring their love from all quarters. The six-episode docu-series has introduced and re-introduced (for those who have watched the budgeted movies) the audience to the Golden era of India’s 90s Pulp cinema. From actors including Sikander Kher, Pratalekha, Kubbra Sait and others to film critics have not only found the unique reality docu-series entertaining, but also emotionally engaging and epic! And within a short span the series is become a must-watch for film buffs and anyone who love cinema and good stories!
Talking about the success of ‘Cinema Marte Dum Tak’ and how fulfilling it is to see this series grow, Vasan Bala, the creator of this series says, “I think it was really emotional for the entire team because you know we persisted with this for such a long time with so many uncertainties in between with COVID and us not understanding how are we going to navigate this all through. And this is docu-fiction in that sense and it has its own journey and it has its own process. So, all credit to the team who really stuck together and persisted and finally it’s out. It’s such a collective victory for everyone”.
He further adds on how he received the appreciation, “Yes, absolutely the passion of these filmmakers has been appreciated. Also, what I am so relieved about is the vision that we had, the empathy which we add, the whole hopefully non-judgmental approach we had that has really come through. It has not been diluted at all”.
Don’t forget to experience the magic and fandom of the Golden era of India’s 90s Pulp cinema with ‘Cinema Marte Dum Tak’ as it is exclusively streaming on Prime Video in India and 240 countries and territories worldwide. A Vice Studios Production, the six-episode docu-series is created by Vasan Bala and co-directed by Disha Rindani, Xulfee, and Kulish Kant Thakur.
