Ed Sheeran makes biting remarks about popular dancing reality show

English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, renowned for hits like “Shape of You,” “Sapphire,” and “Perfect,” has taken a cheeky jab at the popular dancing reality show, “Strictly Come Dancing.”

The 34-year-old artist has made it clear that he has no intention of participating in the BBC series, which is set to conclude next week with a star-studded finale. While many fans would love to see Ed showcase his skills on the dance floor, the “Regrets” singer is adamant about not donning sequins any time soon, playfully criticizing the show.

Speaking backstage at the Capital Jingle Ball, Ed addressed the so-called Strictly curse that has led many married couples to fall for their dance partners or fellow celebrities on the show. When asked about joining the program, he firmly replied, “No,” adding with a smile, “I enjoy being married.”

The former busker also expressed his lack of confidence in his dancing abilities. “You’ve got to do what you’re good at and that ain’t what I’m good at,” he said. He elaborated that while he has tried dancing, it requires numerous rehearsals. His 2014 video for “Thinking Out Loud” involved six weeks of intense ballroom dancing practice. “A bit like hardcore Strictly Come Dancing, but not going on television,” he noted.

During his performance at the Jingle Bell Ball on Saturday, Ed paid homage to his wife, Cherry, by adding the track “Heaven” from his Play album to his setlist, as it is her favorite.

The singer, whose net worth is estimated to be around $4.5 million, married his school friend in a private ceremony in 2018 after dating for three years, and he waited nearly a year to publicly confirm the news of their marriage.
