Actress Esha Deol, still grieving the loss of her beloved father and legendary actor Dharmendra, has expressed her intention to take a break from social media for a while.

The ‘Dhoom’ actress shared that she has been holding off on her work commitments due to these unfortunate circumstances, but she plans to share updates soon.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Esha stated, “I had kept a few work commitments on hold for a long time which I would be posting & sharing with you all now in the coming days. (sic).”

She emphasized that this is a particularly challenging time for her as a daughter, still mourning the loss of her “precious” father. Esha said, “Please understand me as a human & most importantly as a daughter who is still grieving the loss of her most loving precious father. A loss I would never get over.”

The ‘Yuva’ actress mentioned that ideally, she would prefer a break from social media, but the nature of her work prevents her from doing so. Esha expressed, “If I had things my way I would wish to not be on this platform for some time and just take a break. But I can’t do that. So try & be kind and understanding. Thank you for the love & support always… love you all.”

Previously, on her father Dharmendra’s 90th birthday on December 8, Esha promised to uphold his legacy with “pride & respect.”

Her emotional tribute read, “I so painfully miss you papa… your warm protective hugs that felt like the cosiest blanket, holding your soft yet strong hands which had unspoken messages & your voice calling out my name that followed with endless conversations, laughter & shayaris. Your motto: ‘always be humble, be happy, healthy & strong.’”

She concluded her heartfelt message with, “I promise to continue your legacy with pride & respect. And I will try my best to spread your love to the millions who love you as I do. I love you papa,” signing off as “Your darling daughter, Your Esha, your Bittu.”

A whiff of nostalgia swept through as evergreen icon Zeenat Aman brought back the magic of her legendary chartbuster ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ on the “Indian Idol” stage.

With contestant Anshika’s powerful and soulful rendition of the iconic song, originally from the 1971 film “Haré Rama Haré Krishna,” nostalgia filled the air, transforming the performance into a full-blown celebration. “Hare Rama Hare Krishna” is a 1971 Indian Hindi-language satirical musical drama film written, produced, and directed by Dev Anand. It stars Dev Anand himself, alongside Mumtaz, Zeenat Aman, and Prem Chopra in lead roles. The film deals with the decadence of the Hippie culture, aiming to convey an anti-drug message while depicting issues associated with Westernization.

The film was a hit and a star-making vehicle for Aman, who portrayed a westernized hippie. It was influenced by the 1968 American psychedelic film, “Psych-Out.” The idea for the film actually came to Dev Anand during his visit to Kathmandu, Nepal, where he encountered hippies living there.

At the teaser launch event, Varun Dhawan shared an entertaining anecdote. He revealed how he insisted that a particular dialogue be included in the film with some help from Sunny Deol.

While filming the sequel, the crew heard a war cry from the aspirants at the academy where part of the movie was shot. A senior officer had shouted to rouse the aspirants, asking, “Awaaz kahan tak jaani chaahiye? Lahore tak (Where shall the voice reach? It should reach Lahore).”

Varun felt it was essential to feature this line. He explained, “I thought, we must include this bit. If they didn’t write it, then they wouldn’t have added it to the script. I then went to Sunny sir and said in his ear, ‘Sir, please do this, this is a very big and real moment. Please use this.’”

He added, “That’s why I use it only in the teaser. Okay, do it. Then I didn’t know if it would work, so I went after Sunny paaji. I mean I can’t tell you, I got goosebumps. The one who was the trainer, I mean, what a voice it must have actually reached Lahore, the way it was doing.”
