Suresh Krissna Dreams of Directing Another Hit: “I’d Love to Reborn and Create Another ‘Annamalai’!”

Ace director Suresh Krissna, famed for directing Superstar Rajinikanth in iconic films like ‘Annamalai’ and ‘Baasha’, recently expressed his deep admiration for the actor. He mentioned that if he were to have another 100 lifetimes, he would choose to be reborn as a director just to celebrate Rajinikanth’s films and to hopefully direct another ‘Annamalai’, ‘Baba’, and ‘Baasha’.

In a heartfelt post on his X timeline, Suresh Krissna wrote, “Dear Rajni. Sir, when you said you’d choose to be born as Rajnikanth even in 100 janmas, it moved me deeply. If I take 100 janmas, I’d want to be born again as a director .. to adore your films .. and hopefully direct another Annamalai Baba n Baasha.”

A week prior, the soft-spoken director expressed his joy regarding the selection of ‘Baasha’ for screening at the 56th IFFI in Goa. He shared his excitement on X, stating, “Honoured and grateful that BAASHA has been selected for the 56th IFFI, Goa, celebrating 50 years of Rajinikanth Sir’s legendary journey. A timeless blessing.”

Currently, Krissna is directing ‘Anantha’, a spiritual feature film centered on Sai Baba. ‘Anantha’, produced by Girish Krishnamurthy, features actors Jagapathi Babu and Suhasini Maniratnam in lead roles.

At a recent music launch event for the film, Suresh Krissna shared, “Words cannot express my happiness today. My heartfelt thanks to Girish for making this project possible. I have directed several commercial films, but when I was told to make a film on Sai Baba and that it should also have commercial appeal — I saw it as a divine challenge.”

He then recounted a poignant miracle that occurred in 2009. “A friend who wanted to make a biopic on Baba took me to Puttaparthi. When I stood before Baba, he looked at me and said in Telugu, ‘Where have you been all these years?’ and I broke down. Two years later, Baba attained samadhi. Years passed, and one morning, Baba appeared in my dream. That same day, my friend told me they had just been discussing making Baba’s film with me,” Krissna said.

He added that soon after, producer Girish approached him, emphasizing the need to create a film that devotees worldwide would cherish—even those unfamiliar with Baba would come to know him.

The film tells several real-life stories where Baba’s presence and miracles are felt. Deva sir composed a song for the film in just 10 minutes—truly divine grace! Every single day of shooting, we witnessed one miracle after another. I was blessed with a wonderful team who worked tirelessly with devotion. Barkha Madan Opens Up: Rarely Talks About Her Acting Journey

Former actress turned Buddhist nun Barkha Madan recently had an unexpected reunion with Gulshan Grover, popularly known as Bollywood’s “Bad Man.” This surprising encounter brought back cherished memories from her past.

Barkha, who left the film industry over a decade ago to embrace monastic life, shared a picture with Gulshan on Instagram. The chance meeting stirred up emotions she seldom revisits. She expressed on social media: “Life has its gentle surprises. At a wedding reception, I suddenly found myself face-to-face with the ever-charming Bad Man—Gulshan Grover ji. Fourteen years into monastic life, and the universe still finds playful ways to remind me of my filmi past!”

She fondly recalled signing the 1996 film Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi at the age of 20, where she shared the screen with stalwarts like Rekha, Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, and the late Inder Kumar. In this film, Gulshan portrayed the memorable villain, King Don.

Reflecting on those moments, she said, “I was just 20 when I signed Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, sharing the screen with the legendary Rekha ji, Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, and late Inder Kumar. And of course, the unforgettable Bad Man himself. Those memories are held even dearer because of the graciousness of a visionary filmmaker, Umesh Mehra ji—a true gentleman to work with.”

Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi was the fifth highest-grossing movie of 1996 and marked the fourth installment in the Khiladi series. Notably, it also marked Rekha’s second negative role after Madam X.

Barkha further reminisced about working with Rekha again in the 2003 film Bhoot, saying, “Rekha ji and I crossed paths again in Bhoot, and both films gifted me with fond memories and great success.”

Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Bhoot features a stellar cast, including Ajay Devgn, Urmila Matondkar, Nana Patekar, Rekha, Fardeen Khan, and Tanuja. It is Ram Gopal Varma’s second horror film after Raat.

Barkha concluded her reflections by noting, “I rarely speak of my acting days, but this unexpected meeting opened a gentle window to a past filled with warmth, gratitude, and a little sparkle from another lifetime. @gulshangrover @akshaykumar.”

In 2012, Barkha transitioned to life as a Buddhist nun, inspired by Buddhist ideologies, and is a devoted follower of the Dalai Lama.
