Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently shared his profound sorrow over the passing of legendary actor Dharmendra.
While hosting Bigg Boss Season 19, he remarked that the past week felt heavy not only for the nation but also for fans and particularly the Bollywood community. Without directly naming Dharmendra, he indicated that “this week the industry faced a huge loss.”
Expressing his emotional turmoil, Salman stated, “I wish I were not hosting Bigg Boss this week, but at the end, life goes on.” For those unaware, Dharmendra passed away on November 24 at the age of 89.
Salman Khan was among the first Bollywood personalities to arrive at the crematorium on November 24 and later attended the prayer meet held by the Deol family on November 27. He shared a special bond with Dharmendra, having starred together in the film ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’, which also featured Kajol and Arbaaz Khan.
The connection between Dharmendra and the Khan family spans over five decades, tracing back to when Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, co-wrote the iconic classic ‘Sholay’ with Javed Akhtar. In this beloved film, Dharmendra portrayed Veeru, a character celebrated as one of Bollywood’s finest.
The day after Dharmendra’s demise, numerous notable figures from the film industry paid their respects at the Deol residence. Prominent personalities such as Jeetendra, Rakesh Roshan, Rekha, Hrithik Roshan, Varun Dhawan, Jackky Bhagnani, Rakul Preet Singh, Ajay Devgn, and Allu Arjun’s father, Allu Aravind, visited the family to offer condolences.
