Filmmaker-actress Pooja Bhatt has shared an emotional moment she experienced with actor Sanjay Dutt, revealing his eagerness to capture the essence of their 1991 film “Sadak,” which ultimately led to the creation of its sequel.
A Look Back at ‘Sadak’
“Sadak” was a romantic action thriller directed by Mahesh Bhatt, featuring Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. The film became one of the highest-grossing movies of 1991.
During a conversation with actor Avtar Gill on her podcast, “The Pooja Bhatt Show,” Pooja delved into how “Sadak 2” came to fruition.
“When I met Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) in Delhi, he brought up the idea of making ‘Sadak 2’. I told him that it’s not my brand and discussed it with Mukesh Bhatt. He advised me to talk directly to Sanju,” Pooja explained. She added, “Bhatt Saab questioned, ‘Why does he want to make it?’”
The Heartfelt Reason
Pooja revealed the real reason behind Sanjay Dutt’s desire for “Sadak 2”: “He told me that he misses the environment that was present on the sets.”
Avtar interjected, adding, “He mentioned the same thing to me.”
Pooja further elaborated, “There were shots, but the conversations between them really enriched our work.”
Avtar also shared a nostalgic moment when he showed Sanjay an old photograph, which excited the star, as he reminisced about the past.
