Karan Wahi Reveals: “I’ve Faced Lions and Snakes, But Dogs Terrify Me!”

Actor Karan Wahi recently opened up to actress Sonali Bendre about his evolution from being terrified of dogs to becoming a proud pet parent.

Facing Fears
During an episode of the second season of the podcast “The Happy Pawdcast,” Wahi candidly shared, “I Faced Lions, Tigers, Snakes… But I Was Terrified of Dogs.”

He discussed his journey with his golden retriever, Noah. Wahi recalled his time on the stunt-based reality show “Khatron Ke Khiladi,” where he specifically requested not to participate in any tasks involving dogs.

Stunts Over Dogs
While he bravely faced dangerous animals such as lions, tigers, hyenas, crocodiles, snakes, and cobras, he made it a point to steer clear of dogs. “I’ve been petrified of dogs. When I did Khatron Ke Khiladi, I specifically told them, ‘Give me any task but not with dogs.’ I did stunts with lions, tigers, hyenas, crocodiles, snakes, cobras, but not with a single dog,” the ‘Half Love Half Arranged’ actor revealed.

A New Beginning
Wahi also discussed how the loneliness he experienced during the lockdown inspired him to adopt Noah. He expressed, “I kept seeing videos of golden retriever puppies online. I didn’t realise how quickly they grow! I got him during lockdown, and I’m glad because for the first year and a half, I was with him constantly. We learned from each other. And I fell in love with this part of my life.”

On Kindness and Responsibility
In his heartfelt conversation, Wahi highlighted the importance of kindness and responsibility, emphasizing that doing good deeds should not feel performative. “Sometimes when people plaster their good deeds online, it takes away from the real reason you do good. We’re not judging anyone, but maybe people like us can use more technology and teach children instead,” he noted.
