The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reportedly cleared director Boyapati Sreenu’s highly anticipated action entertainer, ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam,’ featuring actor Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role.
Although an official announcement is pending, insiders suggest that the film is now set for release, boasting a runtime of 166 minutes (2 hours and 44 minutes).
For those not in the know, ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’ is scheduled to hit theaters on December 5 this year.
The update follows closely on the heels of production house 14 Reels unveiling a new teaser for the film. The production team shared the teaser on their X timeline, stating, “Every frame, every shot shows THE DIVINE FURY. #Akhanda2 massive Thaandavam teaser out now. In cinemas worldwide on December 5th.”
The newly released teaser depicts enemies conspiring against India while showing Balakrishna dressed as a sadhu, stating, “Where there is a bad, parallely, there is a God! Be brave,” in his signature style. It emphasizes what the trailer showcased—Balakrishna embodies a divine force, ready to confront powerful black magic sorcerers aligned with India’s adversaries. Viewers can also expect exhilarating action sequences in the film.
The teaser clearly indicates that Balakrishna’s character will battle both national enemies and ungodly forces aiming to disrupt the country’s peace and harmony in ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam.’
Director Boyapati Sreenu, renowned for crafting blockbusters, is currently finalizing this high-octane sequel, which is in the concluding phase of post-production.
Backed by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, the project is being presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri. The film is set to grace the big screens on December 5, and sources suggest it will be a grand cinematic spectacle, with Boyapati Sreenu creating a larger-than-life narrative on an expansive canvas.
S Thaman’s energetic background score is expected to enhance the film’s high-voltage scenes, delivering the adrenaline rush that fans await. Balakrishna’s fierce and spiritually charged avatar has already captivated fans and movie enthusiasts.
