Censor Board Approves Prithviraj’s ‘Vilaayath Buddha’ for Release with U/A Certificate!

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared director Jayan Nambiar’s highly anticipated action entertainer, ‘Vilaayath Buddha’, featuring actor Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role. The film has been issued a U/A certificate, allowing it to be released.

Actor Prithviraj took to his social media to confirm the censor board’s clearance, stating, “Censored with U/A 16+. Booking opens tomorrow! #VilaayathBudha in cinemas, November 21st!”

In ‘Vilaayath Buddha’, Prithviraj portrays a character named ‘Double Mohan’. The film is set to be released on November 21.

A recently released teaser has heightened the excitement among fans.

The teaser opens with two police officers discussing “Double,” whose real name is Mohan. One officer reveals that Double is the key player in sandalwood smuggling, suggesting that much of the operation hinges on him. He even nicknames him “Kutty Veerappan” (Little Veerappan).

The footage showcases Mohan (Prithviraj) as a cheeky and brave character, unafraid to confront police. When an officer warns him, “Who do you think you are? Pushpa?”, Double Mohan retorts, “Oh, he is international. I am just local.” The teaser also hints at a romantic side to Mohan, with his sweetheart supporting him wholeheartedly. It concludes with more powerful figures reminding Mohan that he hasn’t yet reached their level, to which he confidently replies that he has weathered enough storms to be taken seriously.

Produced by Sandip Senan and A V Anoop, the film’s screenplay is penned by G R Indugopan and Rajesh Pinnadan, generating significant interest among both fans and film buffs.

On the technical front, the film features cinematography by Arvind S Kashyap and Renadive. The score is composed by the renowned Jakes Bejoy, and editing is managed by Sreejith Sarang. Jithu Sebastian contributes as the art director, while stunts are choreographed by Rajasekhar, Kalai Kingson, Supreme Sundar, and Mahesh Mathew.
