Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has conveyed a heartfelt message to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on its centenary. Taking to his social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, he posted a video expressing his thoughts on the organization.

He stated, “Namaskar. This Vijaya Dashami marks 100 years of RSS. Through every challenge, the Sangh has stayed true to the nation and nation building. Swamsevaks have contributed in all walks of life and stood in service during every calamity.”

“RSS continues its work for positive social change. On this occasion, let us join together in the mission of nation building. I congratulate RSS for 100 years. Jai Hind. Jai Bharat,” he added.

SRS Background

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, founded in 1925 in Nagpur by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, is a Hindu nationalist volunteer organization. It operates as a paramilitary-style cadre organization, holding daily gatherings known as shakhas, where members participate in physical training, drills, and discussions. Its significance grew notably after India gained independence.

The RSS plays a crucial role in shaping the ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), its political offshoot through the Jana Sangh, and influences a wide network of affiliated groups collectively known as the Sangh Parivar. This network includes student unions, labor groups, and cultural bodies. As of the 2020s, the RSS claims millions of members across India and beyond.

Sanjay Dutt’s Temple Visit

In addition to his video message, Sanjay Dutt recently sought divine blessings at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. Footage captured the actor sitting in the Nandi Hall of the temple, partaking in the Bhasma Aarti ceremony on Thursday morning.

Bollywood actress Sharvari has begun shooting for her next big project, a film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, co-starring Vedang Raina.

A New Identity

Chaams expressed his happiness saying, “I am happy to share the news of my name change with you all on this auspicious occasion of Vijayadasami. My original name is Swaminathan, and I entered the film industry with it. However, I wanted to stand out and be recognized, which led to my name change to Chaams. With this name, I have acted in over 230 films so far.”

Recognition for a Popular Role

The actor elaborated, “I portrayed the character Java Sundaresan in director Chimbu Devan’s ‘Arai En 305il Kadavul.’ This character became immensely popular, and fans began addressing me as Java Sundaresan instead of my screen name, Chaams. After much consideration, I approached director Chimbu Devan, who created this character in the film, and sought his permission to adopt the character’s name as my own. So, from today, I have decided to change my name from Chaams to Java Sundaresan.”

On this occasion, he also expressed heartfelt thanks to director Chimbu Devan for introducing him to such a memorable character and name. He extended his gratitude to ace director Shankar, the producer of the film, as well.

Ace cameraman Manoj Paramahamsa, one of the cinematographers behind the blockbuster film ‘They Call Him OG’ featuring actor Pawan Kalyan, has expressed his gratitude in a heartfelt note. He mentioned that while he always regarded Vijay as the most hardworking star, Pawan Kalyan surpassed expectations during the making of OG.
