He reflected on their parallel careers, stating, “It’s a very, very sad day. I can’t tell you about Satish. Since our careers started, he has been with us. When I came to Mumbai for the first time in the 60s, Satish used to be in theatre; we were also there. I have known him for a long time, I have enjoyed a lot with him. He was a very fantastic person.”

He added, “He was always a very positive person. I am very sad today that he has passed away. May God give peace to his soul. Om Shanti. I hadn’t called him for a month and a half. I only knew that he had a kidney transplant. I was planning to call him when I was outdoors. When I came back, I got this news in the morning. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to talk to him.”

Emraam and Yami share the screen for the first time in ‘Haq,’ with the trailer being unveiled recently. This intense drama is inspired by the landmark judgement of the Supreme Court in the case of Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum.

During the trailer launch, Emraam discussed whether he felt a heightened responsibility to portray a film like ‘Haq’ considering his Muslim background. He shared, “When I read a script like this, I see it as an actor, and for the first time in this film, I also had to bring in the perspective of a Muslim. Going back to the landmark case, the country was divided into two parts. One was on the side of religion and personal faith, the other was on the side of constitutional rights and secular rights. But I wanted to ensure that the director and writer’s perspective in this film is balanced, unbiased, and neutral? So the short answer is ‘yes.’ It was very neutral.”

A Pro-Women Narrative

He emphasized, “When people come out after watching this film, I don’t know what their opinion will be. I know that most of them will find it extremely balanced, and the thing that comes out is pro-women. It’s a pro-women film. For my community, I felt that this is from a liberal Muslim point of view. I think this is a great piece of work. Muslims should really come and watch this film because you will connect with it in a very different way.”

Plot Overview

‘Haq’ tells the compelling story of a Muslim woman who challenges the system and approaches the court to demand her rights and those of her children under Section 125. The film addresses vital issues surrounding faith, identity, liberalism, and the Uniform Civil Code Act under Article 44.

Produced by Junglee Pictures in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, ‘Haq’ is directed by one of the industry’s most dynamic talents, Suparn S Varma. The film is set to release in theaters on November 7, 2025.

Actor Akshay Oberoi celebrated Diwali this year by treating his loved ones to some delicious homemade pizza.

So, that is what I plan to do. Other than that, I think there’s nothing else there.”

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Maddock Films, “Thamma” was released on 21 October 2025 during the Diwali weekend. The film features Ayushmann Khurrana as a timid journalist who becomes embroiled with a mysterious vampiric being, played by Rashmika Mandanna, set against the mythic backdrop of Betals. While part of the established horror-comedy universe (MHCU), “Thamma” leans more into romance and fantasy rather than straight horror.

Actress Ishita Dixit recently revealed a significant twist in the storyline of “Anupamaa,” announcing that her character, Pari, is no longer welcome in the Kothari house.

Pari’s Heartbreak

Speaking about the new track, Ishita shared, “In the upcoming episodes, Pari returns to the Shah house completely heartbroken after discovering the truth about her husband Raja’s affair with Ishani.”

Ishita elaborated, “Raja tries to make amends by coming to the Shah house with flowers, hoping to console her and win back her heart. However, Pari stands firm and refuses to forgive him so easily. She’s deeply hurt and feels betrayed by someone she trusted the most.”

“Anupamaa” is a remake of Star Jalsha’s Bengali series “Sreemoyee.” Rupali Ganguly plays the titular role alongside Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma, and Gaurav Khanna. Since October 2024, the series has continued with Ganguly and Adrija Roy, who has replaced Alisha Parveen Khan, along with Shivam Khajuria as second-generation leads.

Earlier, Ishita expressed her fondness for her character, stating, “I adore Pari’s positivity and strong moral compass, inspired by Anupamaa’s guidance.
