Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit recently took to social media to share a heartfelt tribute to Madhu Shah, the wife of the late actor Satish Shah.

In his emotional message, Ashoke reflected on their decades-long friendship, Madhu’s artistic journey, and the beautiful love story she shared with Satish. He posted a touching photo on Instagram, showing himself alongside Madhu.

A Tribute to Friendship and Talent

In the caption, Ashoke wrote, “Dear Madhu. Have known you since last 40 yrs. You have been a person who always believed in goodness, sharing love & affection towards people around you. Being a daughter of an ace photographer, respected R.R. Prabhu, whom whenever I met blessed me with his artistic smile and graceful gesture. You have very well followed his footsteps and protected his legacy with your talent as a brilliant actress and a superb fashion designer. Have shared great moments with you when you played important characters in my one-act plays which I directed in your college (SNDT Juhu).”

He fondly recalled, “My dear friend Satish Shah saw your performance at the Inter-collegiate competition and was dam impressed with your award-winning performance. Aur uske baad ek love story ki shuruaat ho gayi which took shape into a mast Jodi. You and Satish were a symbol of grace, dignity, humour, oneness, masti.”

Ashoke concluded his post with a heartfelt message: “You and Satish have created lots of nice people around you who will always be with you with their affection towards you. Still remember your tiffin which you used to send for all of us with Satish on the sets of Filmi Chakkar which Satish used to eat all by himself and not allow us to eat.”

He added, “I refuse to accept that you are not well. For me, you are the same lovable person. Common, let’s do a play together & I promise you will again bag the best actress award because I don’t find anyone better than you. I am sure Satish will clap from up there and will be proud of you. Remembering Satish Shah

Veteran actor Satish Shah passed away at the age of 74 on October 25. The comedian-actor was renowned for his memorable roles in iconic productions such as “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai,” “Kal Ho Naa Ho,” “Om Shanti Om,” “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro,” “Umrao Jaan,” and “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.”

Discussing the emotional depth of her character, Tadaka, Rashmika expressed, “I’ve realized Tadaka is just picking up emotions through the journey because it’s been so many years that she’s been alive, but she’s also been in the forest. For her, humans are a fascinating species.”

She elaborated, “Every time they cry, she’s just wondering how they’re crying. Each laugh makes her think, ‘oh, this is how you smile.’ She tries to replicate those emotions from Alok and similar interactions. Those are the minute details that I focused on because I thought, okay, I’m an animal.”

Rashmika further explained her approach: “If I were turned into a human, this is what I’d have to do. That’s how I viewed the role and performed it. That’s why she can’t cry; she doesn’t know how to. Her only outlet is screaming, which is her superpower. So, yeah, we built around that concept.”

About “Thamma”

“Thamma” also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Ayushmann Khurrana and is set in a fictional world. The film connects with Varun Dhawan’s “Bhediya” and is part of the larger Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, linked to the “Stree” films, “Bhediya,” and “Munjya.”

This vampire-themed film tells the story of a journalist, portrayed by Ayushmann, who becomes entangled in the power dynamics between the vampire characters played by Rashmika and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Looking Ahead

Shifting her focus to upcoming projects, Rashmika is excited about the release of her new film “The Girlfriend,” a Telugu romantic drama that also stars Dheekshith Shetty and is directed by Rahul Ravindran. To celebrate this remarkable tribute, a live music concert featuring music maestro A.R. Rahman has been organized for November 23. The event will highlight the illustrious contributions of R.K. Laxman and is set to take place at the MCA Cricket Stadium in Pune, starting at 5 PM.

Usha Lakshman, the daughter-in-law of the late cartoonist, stated, “The R.K. Laxman family has organized an A.R. Rahman live music concert on Sunday, 23rd November 2025, at the MCA Cricket Stadium.” She added, “The concert will begin at 5 PM onwards, and during the event, we will be paying tribute to R.K. Laxman by instituting the first-ever R.K. Laxman Award for Excellence.”

Aamir Khan as the Award’s First Recipient

The first recipient of the R.K. Laxman Award for Excellence will be Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan. Usha expressed, “The recipient of this award will be Aamir Khan, and this will be the biggest tribute we, as a family, are offering to Laxman.”

R.K. Laxman, an iconic Indian cartoonist and illustrator, is best remembered for his creation ‘The Common Man’ and his daily cartoon strip ‘You Said It.’ He was also responsible for the sketches for the television adaptation of “Malgudi Days,” written by his elder brother, R.K. Narayan, and directed by Shankar Nag.

R.K. Laxman passed away in Pune’s Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in 2015 at the age of 93. His illustrious career was recognized with the Padma Bhushan in 1973 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2005 by the Government of India. Additionally, he received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Mysore in 2004.

Fearlessness with Responsibility

While promoting her film at a luxurious 5-star hotel in Juhu, Gautam emphasized that being fearless doesn’t equate to being careless. She highlighted the significance of balancing bravery with responsibility.

“Having been part of some important films like ‘Uri’, ‘Article 370’, and now ‘Haq’, I see a common thread: fearlessness. Fearless doesn’t mean careless. You need the courage to tell these stories; otherwise, you shouldn’t make the film. If the intention behind the film is to preempt controversy, audiences can see right through that. My discussions with the director were focused on emotions and how to portray them effectively for the camera. When crying in multiple scenes, for instance, how can I ensure they differ? Even if I look similar, the internal experience is distinct. Thus, my discussions are strictly creative; I try not to overthink. All that contemplation occurs before I commit to a film, allowing me to make informed decisions.”

Produced by Junglee Pictures, in collaboration with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, ‘Haq’ is directed by Suparn S Varma. The film is set to hit theaters on November 7, 2025.

The Delhi High Court recently dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against the upcoming film “The Taj Story,” criticizing it as an unnecessary attempt to interfere with artistic freedom. The court reaffirmed its support for the film’s release, stating that creative expression cannot be curtailed without substantial grounds.

In this case, the PIL was submitted to prevent or regulate the release of the film ahead of its scheduled nationwide premiere on October 31. The petitioner argued that the movie might misrepresent historical facts and disrupt communal harmony. However, the court declined the request for an urgent hearing, indicating that the issue would be addressed through the regular legal process.

Director Tushar Amrish Goel responded to the concerns, emphasizing that “The Taj Story” is based on six months of extensive research, consultations, and verified historical references. He stated, “The Taj Story is not built on imagination or hearsay, or some fictional stories. Also, the respected Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) examined every detail and gave the approval to the film only after being fully satisfied with the film’s authenticity. Our intent was never to provoke or create communal tension, but to present a researched perspective that encourages informed discussion. I deeply respect the Delhi High Court’s decision to stand with the film and uphold the spirit of creative freedom. Cinema should remain a space for truth, research, and fearless storytelling.”

Producer CA Suresh Jha also defended the film, declaring, “All the allegations and the PIL filed against The Taj Story are completely baseless. We have made this film with full honesty, responsibility, and respect for our history. Our only aim is to bring the real story to the world, one that sparks curiosity, dialogue, and pride, not division.”

The PIL, filed by advocate Shakeel Abbas and BJP leader Rajnish Sing, calls for the Central government and the CBFC to revisit the certification granted to the film, arguing that it relies on speculative theories. The petition demands disclaimers and restrictions to avert public unrest, particularly in Agra.

“The Taj Story” features a talented cast including Paresh Rawal, Zakir Hussain, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sneha Wagh, and Namit Das, and is set to hit theaters nationwide on October 31.

Actress Prarthana Behere, best known for her role as Vaishali in the popular show Pavitra Rishta, is in mourning following the recent passing of her father. He lost his life in a tragic road accident earlier this month.

In a heartfelt tribute, Prarthana shared a touching image of her mobile screensaver featuring her father’s photo along with the angelic time ’11:11.’ She captioned the picture with a simple yet poignant message: “Miss you, Baba.” In her social media post, she expressed her grief and shared an emotional note reflecting on the values and teachings imparted by her father.

Prarthana wrote in Marathi, which translates to, “Even after death, you will be remembered, someone will smile through their tears, and life will continue — that’s what living means.” She added, “My father… Unfortunately, he passed away in a road accident on October 14. Your smile still echoes in our ears, your confidence strengthens our minds, and from your life we learn that happiness is not about circumstances but about attitude.”

She took the opportunity to thank her father for instilling important values in her life. “Your integrity, service, and unending love for people have taught us the true value of humanity. You taught us that helping others is the real satisfaction. Even though you are not with us today, your voice and songs always give us strength,” she remarked.

Prarthana made a promise to continue making him proud through her work. She stated, “I’ve been doing the same things that you’d be proud of to date. About to start working even harder now.
