KBC Welcomes World Cup-Winning Indian Women’s Cricket Team for Special Episode!

The upcoming episode of the quiz-based reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ will host the members of the World Cup-winning Indian Women’s Cricket team.

This special episode features skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, along with players Harleen Kaur Deol, Richa Ghosh, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, and India Women’s Team Head Coach Amol Muzumdar.

A Celebration of Cricket and Quizzing

This episode will further celebrate the pride and power of India’s Women in Blue. However, it seems team India’s explosive opener Smriti Mandhana will not be part of this episode.

Earlier this month, India triumphed over South Africa, a repeat of the stunning performance the Men’s cricket team displayed in the T20 World Cup 2024 Final.

In the match, South Africa won the toss, opting to bowl first. The Indian squad put up a commendable score of 298 runs, just shy of the 300-mark. Laura Wolvaardt, the South African skipper, stirred anxiety among Indian fans with an impressive 101 off 98 balls before being dismissed by Deepti Sharma.

Despite Wolvaardt’s remarkable effort, she was the only top scorer for South Africa. Following a solid innings, the Proteas faltered in the finals, allowing team India to secure victory by 52 runs. Deepti Sharma received the Player of the Tournament award, while Shafali Verma was named the Player of the Match.

This victory marked a moment of healing for an entire generation, one that has borne the scars of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2003 and 2023, while cherishing memories of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2011, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2007, and the tales of ICC Men’s World Cup 1983.

‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ airs on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.

    A Cinematic Icon

Dharmendra was one of Bollywood’s most enduring and beloved stars. Born in 1935 in Punjab, he began his career in the early 1960s after being discovered through a talent hunt competition. In the late 1950s, Filmfare magazine, in collaboration with Bimal Roy Productions, organized a nationwide talent contest to find new faces for Hindi cinema.

Dharmendra entered the competition and won in 1958, chosen for his striking looks and natural charm. This victory opened the door to the film industry for him. Notably, the same talent hunt later discovered Rajesh Khanna, one of Hindi cinema’s biggest superstars.

    Legacy of Excellence

Some of his most iconic films include ‘Phool Aur Patthar’, which established him as a leading man, and ‘Sholay’, where his portrayal of the lovable, witty Veeru became legendary.

  • Saira Banu Shares How Dilip Kumar Became Dharmendra’s Guiding Big Brother Moment

Saira Banu Shares How Dilip Kumar Became Dharmendra’s Guiding Big Brother Moment

Veteran actress Saira Banu, who is known for sharing captivating stories from her past on Instagram, is paying tribute to the late actor Dharmendra, who sadly passed away on Monday.

The actress took to her Instagram on Tuesday to share a collection of nostalgic pictures featuring the late actor, herself, and her late husband, Dilip Kumar. Dharmendra and Dilip Kumar shared a profound bond filled with mutual respect and admiration, with Dharmendra crediting his flourishing career to Dilip Kumar.

    A Heartfelt Tribute
In her lengthy caption, Saira Banu spoke about their special bond. She expressed, “The demise of Dharam ji feels as though a chapter of our shared cinematic and personal history has gently closed its pages, leaving behind a warmth that is rare to find in today’s hurried times. For me, the loss is not merely of a colleague, but he was my dear Yousuf Sahib’s ‘Dharam’. I often return to the story he narrated countless times, with the innocence and wonder of a man who never lost his humility.”

She reminisced about Dharmendra’s journey, stating, “In 1952, a young boy from Ludhiana, deeply touched by the film Shaheed, set out for Bombay with only one dream: to meet the actor who had made an impact in his mind. His heart thumped with reverence as he made his way to Pali Hill in Bandra, where Dilip Sahib lived. With the courage only youth can claim, he entered the home without anyone stopping him.”

    An Unforgettable Encounter
Saira then described the moment Dharmendra met Dilip Kumar: “And there he found Yousuf Sahib, fast asleep on the sofa, the afternoon sun falling softly across his face. Dharam stood frozen in awe until Yousuf Sahib stirred awake, and the poor boy, frightened by his own boldness, ran out of the house with the swiftness of a startled deer. It became one of his favorite memories to recount, always with a shy smile.”

She continued, “Six years later, destiny brought them together again, this time through the Filmfare Talent Hunt. The meeting was arranged by Farida, Sahib’s younger sister, who worked with Femina. It was here that young Dharmendra met the man he idolized, not just as a distant star, but as an elder brother whose eyes held warmth, wisdom, and a rare gentleness. Yousuf Sahib spoke to him in that affectionate blend of English, Punjabi, and Urdu that only he could make sound like poetry.”

    A Gesture of Affection
Saira concluded by sharing a touching incident: “It was a chilly evening, and before parting, he took off his own sweater and draped it around the young aspirant’s shoulders. That simple gesture, rooted in pure affection, became the first thread of a lifelong bond.”
