In an exclusive conversation at the IFFI 2025 event, Sunny expressed his deep interest in real-life stories that inspire change and leave a lasting impact. He stated that narratives rooted in inspiration and meaningful journeys resonate with him the most.

When asked about the types of stories that attract him, Sunny Hinduja emphasized his fondness for biopics and real-life narratives. He remarked, “I love biopics. Even if the story is about someone unknown, if they created change, inspired people, or lived a meaningful life, I find that very powerful. Stories that touch the heart always stay with me.”

Choosing Roles

Discussing his approach to selecting roles, Sunny Hinduja commented, “I don’t believe actors choose roles. Roles choose you. We often say we want good people and passionate creators around us, but the role meant for you arrives with everything aligned. I don’t judge roles or set fixed rules. I simply follow what feels right.”

Upcoming Projects

When inquired about new projects, the actor confirmed he is currently preparing for a role and will begin shooting soon.

Directorial Debut

Sunny Hinduja also appeared in the film “A Film Within a Film,” marking his directorial debut. Reflecting on the project, he shared, “This is a story we wanted to tell for a long time. Since we both are actors at heart, we thought, why not create something for ourselves—characters we relate to and a story we believe in? When we began writing, we poured so much of ourselves into it that we eventually felt no one could direct it better than us. We knew the characters intimately. That’s how we ended up directing and producing it as well.”

Malayalam star Mohanlal has expressed his joy over the restoration of his cult classic film ‘Kireedam’ by the National Film Archive of India (NFDC). He stated that it would be an honor to see this classic return to the screen.

In a post on his X timeline, he announced that the world premiere of the restored 4K version of ‘Kireedam’ would be featured as part of the Special Screenings at the International Film Festival of India in Goa. He noted that the film’s final grading was supervised by its cinematographer, S. Kumar.

Mohanlal shared, “Delighted to share the world premiere of the 4K restoration of Kireedam (1989), presented as part of the Special Screenings at the 56th IFFI, Goa. The film has been meticulously restored by NFDC from a 35mm release print, thankfully preserved by the archive for several decades after the original camera negative had decomposed. The final grading was supervised by the film’s cinematographer, S. Kumar. It is an honour to witness this classic return to the screen.”

He further added, “It is heartening to see ‘Kireedam’ revived under the National Film Heritage Mission. My best wishes to NFDC–NFAI as they continue preserving and presenting India’s cinematic heritage for future generations, in both digital and analog form.”

For those unfamiliar, ‘Kireedam’ is a Malayalam film directed by Sibi Malayil, released in 1989, starring Mohanlal, Thilakan, Parvathy Jayaram, and Mohanraj in lead roles. This cult classic earned Mohanlal his first National Award for Special Mention, recognizing his portrayal of a young man’s agony and pain in a unique manner. The film was not only a massive commercial success but also received critical acclaim, solidifying its status as one of Malayalam cinema’s most iconic films.

Veteran actress Asha Parekh paid a visit to the late actor Dharmendra’s home on Wednesday, arriving at his Juhu residence to offer condolences to the grieving family.

Since Dharmendra’s passing, nearly the entire film industry has come together to extend their sympathies to his family. Recently, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, along with his wife Alia Bhatt, and music composer Anu Malik were also seen visiting the late actor’s residence on Tuesday.

Dharmendra had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai but was discharged after showing signs of recovery. He continued his recovery at home, although he was placed on a ventilator due to breathing difficulties. Unfortunately, he passed away on Monday.

One of Bollywood’s most enduring and beloved stars, Dharmendra was born in 1935 in Punjab. He began his career in the early 1960s after being discovered through a talent hunt competition. In the late 1950s, Filmfare magazine, alongside Bimal Roy Productions, organized a nationwide talent contest to scout new faces for Hindi cinema.

Dharmendra entered the competition and won in 1958, recognized for his striking looks and natural charm. This victory opened doors for him in the film industry, paving the way for others, including Rajesh Khanna, who would become one of Hindi cinema’s biggest superstars.

He quickly rose to fame, celebrated for his charming looks, emotional depth, and effortless screen presence. Dharmendra’s versatility allowed him to shine in romance, action, and comedy. Some of his most iconic films include ‘Phool Aur Patthar’, which solidified his status as a leading man, and ‘Sholay’, where his portrayal of the lovable, witty Veeru became legendary.

Dharmendra was also honored with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award.

The beginning of the trailer features Kapil explaining to a church priest how his seemingly simple plan to marry his beloved spiraled into a hilarious series of errors, resulting in three wives from different faiths. A poignant moment in the trailer is the appearance of the late actor Asrani, who tragically passed away in October this year. Fans promptly recognized him and expressed their sentiments, highlighting how much they miss the beloved star. This film will be Asrani’s last work.

Besides Kapil Sharma, the film features an ensemble cast, including Manjot Singh, Tridha Choudhury, Hina Waria, Parul Gulati, and Ayesha Khan in lead roles. The supporting cast includes Gashmeer Mahajani, Saurabh Goyal, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma.

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is directed by Anukalp Goswami and produced by Ratan Jain, Ganesh Jain, and Abbas-Mustan under Venus Worldwide Entertainment, in collaboration with Abbas Mustan Film Production.

Renewed Expectations

The collaboration between Gopichand Malineni and Nandamuri Balakrishna has created significant buzz, especially after their successful blockbuster, ‘Veera Simha Reddy’.

Epic Scale Production

This film, tentatively titled #NBK111, is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, known for its recent project ‘Peddi’. Nayanthara will star opposite Balakrishna, marking their fourth collaboration following ‘Simha’, ‘Jai Simha’, and ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’.

The majestic launch of the film on Wednesday featured the official script handover by Andhra Pradesh Ministers Anagani Satya Prasad and Gottipati Ravi Kumar. Director B Gopal, known for his previous successes with Balakrishna, initiated the clapboard while NBK’s daughter Tejaswini switched on the camera.

The inaugural shot was a collective effort directed by Boyapati Sreenu, Bobby, and Buchi Babu. The ceremony was graced by numerous renowned directors, producers, and distinguished guests, enhancing the event’s significance.

Gopichand Malineni is stepping into the historical drama genre for the first time, aiming to present a grand narrative showcasing Balakrishna in a unique avatar. The special poster revealed Balakrishna as a powerful king, armed with a sword and anchor, exuding a commanding presence with his long hair and beard.

It seems like age cannot catch up with the legendary singer-songwriter Sir Elton John. He has shared that he is “singing better than (he’s) ever done before.”

Performing Beyond Tours

Despite stepping back from touring after his Farewell Yellow Brick Road shows in 2023, the music icon continues to perform. Reports indicate that he is still taking the stage for private gigs and feels his vocals are in terrific shape, even after facing health challenges, including losing sight in his right eye.

He told ‘Variety’, “I’ll have done 11 private shows by the end of the year, which I’ve never done in my life, some solo, some with the band. And it’s been fun, because I was terrified I wouldn’t be able to see the piano keys or the microphone. And I can see, because everything’s so close up. What I can’t see when I’m playing with the band is the band, which is a bit of a nightmare. I can’t see Nigel (Olsson), the drummer, so I have to have Davey (Johnstone, Elton’s lead guitarist) or somebody say, ‘OK, this is where it ends’, and make sure we’re in sync.”

A Joy for Music

The ‘I’m Still Standing’ artist expressed, “But I tell you what, I’m singing better than I’ve ever done before, and I’m playing really well, and I’m enjoying it, and that is helping me a lot. Music has been my whole life and has given me so much and takes me on journeys that I never thought I would ever go on, and it’s still doing that. I just like doing the odd thing. It pays the rent very well, and it keeps me musical. I just can’t wait to go into the studio now and write some new songs and go from there.”

New Projects Ahead

At 78, Elton is collaborating with his long-time lyricist Bernie Taupin on new material. He revealed plans to release a more modern record following ‘Who Believes in Angels?’, his collaboration with Brandi Carlile, which was released earlier this year.

The singer noted, “The album with Brandi, it’s a timeless record, but it’s not of its time. We just wanted to make a record that we loved, with great songs. That was yesterday’s record, and it was fantastic. But there is a part of me that wants to do a much more commercial record and do more Bernie Taupin songs that are more of today than yesterday.”

Bollywood multi-hyphenate Kapil Sharma has finally addressed the shooting incident that took place outside his café in Canada earlier this year. During the trailer launch of his upcoming film ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’, the actor-singer shared his thoughts on the incident with the media present at the venue.

Details of the Incident

Speaking about the gunfire, Kapil mentioned, “It happened in Vancouver, Canada, and I think they fired three times. I feel the police may not have the power to intervene there. But after that, when this case happened, it went to the federal government, like our central government, and it was discussed in the Parliament of Canada.”

He expressed his disbelief at the situation, adding, “So, I think we don’t understand the story behind what God does. But I got a call from a lot of people, that there was already a lot going on there. But it was fired at your café; it became news. So now, the police there, the law and order there, they are moving towards improving things. I never feel unsafe in Mumbai and in my country. Those guys don’t have police like Mumbai.”

Recent Shooting Incidents

Last month, multiple shots were fired outside Kapil Sharma’s café in Canada. The responsibility for the shooting was claimed by gang members of the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, including Kulveer Sidhu and Goldy Dhillon. They issued a social media post taking responsibility for the attack, stating that they do not intend to harm civildigihunt but rather those who cheat and harm them should be warned.

This incident marked the third attack in four months at Kapil’s café in Surrey, Canada. The first attack was reported by Harjit Singh Laddi, a wanted terrorist associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), which cited some remarks by Kapil that allegedly offended the Nihang Sikh community.

The second attack involved gangs connected to Goldy Dhillon and Lawrence Bishnoi. The jailed gangster has been targeting Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in retaliation for the illegal hunting of the blackbuck, a sacred animal for the Bishnoi community.

Bishnoi has been pursuing individuals close to the superstar for some time now. Notably, Kapil Sharma’s sketch comedy shows were produced by Salman Khan before the comedian-actor transitioned to Netflix for ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’.

Actor Meezaan Jafri is garnering significant praise for his role in ‘De De Pyaar De 2’. He recently shared his thoughts on the film’s director, Anshul Sharma, noting that Sharma has a poker face.

In a conversation following the film’s release, Meezaan provided insights into Anshul’s directorial style. He remarked, “Anshul sir is so precise with his dialogues. He knows exactly what he wants. But what I love about him the most is his extremely calm nature. He always has a poker face. He’s very calm, and very chilled out. And I think that created a great atmosphere for me as an actor to perform in those scenes.”

Meezaan highlighted the influence Anshul had on his character, explaining how he adopted aspects of the director’s body language. “There were many times when I imbibed his body language in my character. The way he used to walk, he would do it for me and show it to me. And that was really, really wonderful. I would say Anshul sir has absolutely killed it with this film.”

The actor described the film’s subject matter as “very complicated,” emphasizing the need to tread carefully to avoid offending anyone. He added, “It’s a family-oriented film. It talks about values and culture, so I think the topic has been balanced and handled really well by Anshul sir, while keeping an entertaining factor throughout.”

Meezaan pointed out that the film is not preachy, stating, “Yes, it gives you a lot of messages about family and relationships. But at the same time, it entertains you. It makes you cry. It makes you laugh. It’s got all of the masala in it.”

‘De De Pyaar De 2’ is currently playing in cinemas.

Actress-producer Neetu Chandra recently reflected on her inspiring journey, highlighting her humble beginnings in a middle-class joint family with no industry background.

Pursuing Quality over Visibility

Neetu emphasized her commitment to meaningful performances, saying, “I want to entertain with strong, meaningful characters. I will only do high-quality films. I don’t want to be seen every day just for visibility. People say, ‘Do it because you look good.’ I know I look good — I am five feet seven and a half! You will see me wherever necessary. I will only do quality work.”

She also shared her preferences regarding script selection: “As for scripts, I read only in Hindi when I am doing Hindi films. Thought comes from language. If a Hindi film is written in English, the soul is lost. That is why many films today miss their essence. Actors should always ask for scripts in the language they are performing in.”

Celebrating Bihar’s Representation in Cinema

Discussing her film “Chhath,” which secured a spot at the International Film Festival of India 2025, Neetu expressed her gratitude to the Bihar government: “Chhath is a film that has emerged from Bihar, featuring artists from the state. I am truly grateful to the Bihar government because their film policy enabled us to accomplish so much.”

She highlighted the importance of this initiative, noting, “The film is also part of that policy. Because of this policy, we were able to make Chhath, and today at the International Film Festival of India in Goa, it is the only Bhojpuri-language film representing Bihar.”

R Madhavan is currently immersed in shooting the much-anticipated biopic of Gopalaswamy Doraiswamy Naidu, the renowned Indian technical designer and industrial pioneer.

While filming the last schedule of the movie overseas, Madhavan delighted his fans by sharing snippets from the shoot on social media.

He posted a video on his Instagram, capturing his arrival at the shoot location on a sophisticated Honda Goldwing Sports touring bike. Upon stopping, the ‘3 Idiots’ actor said, “Best way to come to the shoot for a film on G. D Naidu sir. What do you think?” before riding away with a laugh.

Earlier in October, the filmmakers released the first look teaser of the film. This clip featured Madhavan transformed into Gopalaswamy Doraiswamy Naidu, hard at work in his workshop. “G.D.N.” chronicles the life of Gopalaswamy Doraiswamy Naidu, a self-taught engineer, inventor, and industrialist from Coimbatore. He is credited with revolutionizing the Indian industry through the development of the country’s first indigenous electric motor, along with other innovations like petrol engines, ticket machines, and agricultural equipment.

Directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, “G.D.N.” is produced by Varghese Moolan Pictures in partnership with Tricolour Films. The core cast features Priyamani, Jayaram, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles, among others.
